Columbia Regional Airport (COU) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation

A new terminal, a short walk, and a chauffeur waiting at the end of it.

COU is the quiet way into mid-Missouri: one small terminal, nonstop service to three big hubs, and none of the ceremony of a major field. Executive Transportation drives it with a uniformed chauffeur, one quote for the whole vehicle, and the same service for a private or charter arrival at the jet center.

Know the airport

What to know about Columbia Regional

Columbia Regional Airport, code COU, serves Columbia and mid-Missouri from a terminal that opened in October 2022. American and United fly it to Chicago, Dallas and Denver, Allegiant has added leisure routes to Florida, and everything happens inside one building. Private and charter flights use the jet center on the general aviation side.

A terminal built this decade

The airport replaced its old passenger building with a new terminal that opened in October 2022, bringing a larger ticketing lobby, a new checkpoint, new holdrooms and a proper baggage claim. It is small on purpose, and that is the point: check-in to gate is a short, obvious walk rather than a connection inside your own departure airport.

Three hubs and a Florida run

The airport says American and United fly nonstop from COU to Chicago O’Hare, Dallas and Denver, and that Allegiant added low cost service to Orlando Sanford and Destin-Fort Walton Beach. A single connection out of any of those hubs puts most of the country in reach, which is why business travelers keep choosing it over a longer drive to a bigger field.

Parking here is free, which changes the question

The airport states that terminal parking is free, lighted and patrolled around the clock by Airport Public Safety, for any length of time for ticketed passengers. Leaving a car longer than 30 days needs an approved form, and violations bring fines or towing. Free parking means the reason to book a car is the run itself, not the cost of the lot.

Where the car meets you

The airport publishes no separate commercial vehicle lane or livery zone, so your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle at the terminal pickup area, with the rental counters in the building just south of it. That is how this works at every airport that has not numbered its doors.

Terminal, airline, parking and general aviation details checked on the airport’s own site, flycou.com, on September 17, 2026. Schedules and airline service change, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.

Departures

Your door to the COU terminal doors

  1. Send the flight detailsThe carrier, the number on the ticket and the scheduled departure. A small airport still has a first bank of flights, and that is the one everybody wants a car for.
  2. We build the pickup backwardCheck-in time, then the run, then a cushion for the stretch of interstate that always slows down. A coordinator gives you the time rather than asking you to work it out.
  3. Bags loaded at your doorThe chauffeur handles the luggage at both ends. Nobody in the party carries anything further than they want to.
  4. Dropped at the terminal doorsThe drop is at the terminal frontage, a short walk from the ticketing lobby and the checkpoint. There is no second building to get wrong here.

Arrivals

COU baggage claim to your own door

  1. Give us the flight numberSend it with the scheduled arrival at booking, and call dispatch if the airline moves you. Somebody answers at any hour, including the last arrival of the night.
  2. Claim your bagsBaggage claim is in the new terminal, a few steps from the doors. The rental counters sit in the building immediately south of it, which is a useful landmark.
  3. Met at baggage claim, walked out to the carCOU does not number its doors, so your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim with your name, takes the bags, and walks you out to the vehicle with the trunk already open.
  4. Private arrivals are met at the jet centerComing off a private or charter aircraft, the car waits at Columbia Jet Center on the general aviation side. You never enter the passenger terminal at all.

If your COU flight moves, phone us. The vehicle is held against the flight number and scheduled time you gave us at booking, so a call is what changes it. A COU change at midnight still reaches a person at (217) 523-5466.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at Columbia Regional

Mid-Missouri does a lot of its business flying privately, and none of it goes near the ticketing lobby. Executive Transportation meets private, charter and corporate aircraft on the general aviation side of COU with the same vehicle and the same uniformed chauffeur.

  • 01

Met at the jet center, not the terminal

The car waits outside the fixed base operator rather than the terminal, so there is no ticketing lobby, no baggage claim and no walk. The aircraft shuts down and the door is already open.

  • 02

    Luggage loaded plane-side

When the operator and the ramp allow it, bags travel from the aircraft to the vehicle directly. When they do not, the handover is at the jet center door with the car sitting right outside it.

  • 03

    Crew and passengers together

One booking covers the flight crew heading for a hotel and the passengers heading for a meeting, in one vehicle or two, without a second trip around the field.

  • 04

    A Sprinter for the delegation

Fourteen seats and room for hard cases take a full aircraft in one run. Larger groups move to a coach, and the price still covers the vehicle rather than the seat.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to COU

Free parking answers one question and leaves the bigger one open: who is doing the driving, and what that person could be doing instead.

Quoted for the car, not per head

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so a coordinator plans the hours around the patch of interstate that always slows down. Four colleagues on the same flight share one figure.

Door to terminal, bags included

The chauffeur loads at your door and unloads at the terminal frontage. Free parking still means walking a lot with luggage, and this does not.

A long drive you do not have to make

This run crosses two states. Spend it working, calling or asleep instead of watching the center line and looking for coffee.

Uniformed chauffeurs since 2004

Two decades of chauffeured airport work sit behind that uniform. The chauffeur arrives early, in uniform, and confirms the door before you are out of the building.

The fleet

What we would send to COU

Every COU transfer is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so the only question is what the party and its luggage need. Tell a coordinator both numbers and the rest is straightforward.

The chauffeur is uniformed whichever one you book. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 for a Columbia wedding party or an arrival that is meant to be noticed.

Cities we connect to COU

Where our Columbia Regional runs start

Executive Transportation drives to Columbia Regional from across Illinois, in both directions, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the COU work comes from, and each has a page of its own.

Each time on these cards is a clear-road run to the COU terminal frontage. Give dispatch the flight rather than the drive: we build the pickup backward from your departure, and the river crossings west of Illinois are where a schedule usually slips.

One quote covers the whole vehicle, whichever Illinois city you start from.

Park or be driven

Park at COU, or be driven to it

At most airports this block is a price comparison. Here it is not, because Columbia Regional does not charge ticketed passengers to leave a car. What is left is the drive.

  • Terminal parkingFreeFor any length of time for ticketed passengers, in the airport’s own words.
  • Watched over24/7The lot is lighted and patrolled around the clock by Airport Public Safety.
  • Leaving it longer30 daysPast a month the airport wants an approved form first, and enforces the rest with fines or towing.

So the question is not what the lot costs. It is what the drive costs you in a working day. See what actually moves a chauffeured quote.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between COU and other airports

A regional airport and a hub are often a better pairing than either one alone. Executive Transportation drives between fields on a single booking, with the bags staying where you packed them.

Each card is the drive between Columbia Regional and the airport named, in either direction. Give us both flight numbers and both scheduled times at booking.

One booking covers both airports and everything between them.

Organizations with people moving through mid-Missouri regularly arrange it through corporate airport transfers, one trip or one calendar at a time.

Boards, committees and visiting delegations arriving together usually start with event transportation.

COU questions

What people ask before booking a COU car

The answers below use Columbia Regional’s own published information, checked on flycou.com in September 2026, plus our own calibrated drive figures.

Where does the chauffeur meet you at Columbia Regional Airport?

Executive Transportation waits at the terminal pickup area just outside baggage claim, with the rental counters in the building south of it as the landmark. COU numbers no livery lane, so your chauffeur names the exact door before you walk out and is standing at it with the trunk open.

See how airport transportation works.

Is parking really free at COU?

Yes. The airport states that terminal parking is free, lighted and patrolled around the clock by Airport Public Safety, for any length of time for ticketed passengers, with an approval form required past 30 days. Free parking still leaves you the drive, which is the part a chauffeur takes off your hands.

Ask a coordinator what the run costs at (217) 523-5466.

Which airlines fly from Columbia Regional?

The airport says American and United fly nonstop from COU to Chicago O’Hare, Dallas-Fort Worth and Denver, and that Allegiant added low cost service to Orlando Sanford and Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Tell a coordinator which airline you are on and the drop is timed to that check-in.

Request a Quote with your flight details.

What happens if my flight into COU is late?

Executive Transportation would rather hear it from you than find out at baggage claim. The car is held against the flight number and scheduled arrival given at booking, not against a board we watch, so your call is what reschedules it. Dispatch is answered at any hour of the day or night.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

How is the price for a COU car service set?

Executive Transportation quotes a Columbia Regional transfer by the hour for the vehicle and chauffeur, and the written quote states the minimum hours before anything is booked. What sets the hours is the length of the run, whether the pickup falls in the small hours and whether you want the return leg on the same booking, and the vehicle class sets the rate. The car is quoted whole, so six people divide one figure.

Request a Quote with your dates.

Which vehicle should a group book for COU?

Executive Transportation matches the party to the vehicle: a sedan for two or three, a luxury SUV for five or six, a Sprinter van for fourteen, and a coach for anything up to thirty-five. The bag count usually settles it before the headcount does.

Compare the full fleet.

Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at COU?

Executive Transportation meets private, charter and corporate aircraft at Columbia Jet Center on the general aviation side of Columbia Regional, rather than at the passenger terminal. Luggage moves plane-side where the operator allows it, and crew and passengers travel on one booking.

Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

Can you drive between Columbia and St. Louis Lambert?

Executive Transportation drives Columbia Regional to St. Louis Lambert and back as a single booking, which is the usual answer when the fare is better out of the hub or a connection falls apart. The luggage stays in the vehicle and nobody rebooks anything.

See the St. Louis Lambert page.

Three things riders mention after a Columbia Regional run.

  • Two states, one figure

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated in the quote, and the hours allow for weather and traffic. Six travelers arrive on a single figure.

  • Loaded at your door, unloaded at COU

Loaded at your door, unloaded at the terminal frontage. Free parking still means a walk, and this does not.

  • Dispatch answers at any hour
