Chauffeur Service: Private Car Service with a Uniformed Professional Chauffeur

The reservation is the service. The car is only how it turns up.

A chauffeur service puts a professional driver and a named vehicle against your trip at an hour you choose, settled before the day arrives. Executives, visiting clients, families and travel offices across Central Illinois all book the same one.

What a chauffeur service is

What a chauffeur service is, and what the booking carries

A chauffeur service is a private car hired in advance with a professional driver assigned to it, for one trip or a standing schedule. Below is what that reservation carries, and where a chauffeur parts company with whoever an app sends.

What the chauffeur is actually doing

The work starts before the car leaves: the route is read, the vehicle is cleaned and checked, and the arrival is timed early rather than exact. At your address the chauffeur is out first, takes the cases, holds the door and says little unless you start talking.

Chauffeur or driver: the reservation is the difference

Any licensed person can drive you somewhere. A chauffeur is engaged for the journey itself, so the vehicle suits your party and your luggage, the hour belongs to you, and the same uniform turns up at a dawn departure and a board dinner alike. An app sends whichever car was closest.

One trip, a whole day, or every Tuesday

Some riders book a single run. Some hold the car and the chauffeur for a block of stops. Others put a repeating pickup on the calendar and change vehicle class as the party changes.

The definition above is the one federal occupation data uses: a chauffeur carries passengers on a planned or scheduled basis in an assigned vehicle. Our long read on chauffeur vs driver names that source and sets the two side by side.

How it goes

From the reservation to the door you named

Half of a chauffeured trip happens before the car moves. The other half should feel like nothing did.

Before the day

How the reservation gets built

  1. Describe the shape of the tripAddresses, the hour, the headcount and the luggage. Name anything with a fixed start time.
  2. A vehicle class is matched to the partyTwo riders and nine are different vehicles, and the cases decide it more often than the heads.
  3. The figure comes back before you commitAn hourly figure for the whole vehicle, with the minimum number of hours said plainly.
  4. The booking is confirmed in writingVehicle, pickup hour and pickup address, so nobody is working from memory on the morning.

On the day

What the chauffeur does with it

  1. The car is there ahead of the hourEarly is the standard. A chauffeur already waiting at the door is the sign it worked.
  2. Cases in at the doorLuggage goes in while you lock up, and the rear door is opened for you at both ends.
  3. The road is the chauffeur’s problemConstruction, weather and the awkward turn into a loading dock are handled quietly.
  4. Extra stops, if you say soA pharmacy, an office, a second passenger across town. Tell dispatch and it goes on the booking.

Anything that changes goes through dispatch. A later flight, an extra rider, a meeting that runs over: somebody answers at any hour, which is why the number sits on every page here. That number is (217) 523-5466.

Private jets and charter

Chauffeur service for private jet and charter passengers

A fair share of the flying we drive for never touches an airline gate, and a chauffeur meets it the same way: at whichever building the aircraft parks beside.

  • 01

The car waits at the operator door

General aviation keeps its own road and lobby, so the chauffeur waits at the FBO door rather than at the airline terminal.

  • 02

Cases move where the ramp allows it

Some operators let a vehicle out to the aircraft, which puts luggage straight from the hold into the trunk.

  • 03

    Two destinations on one booking

A charter party splits at the steps, crew to a hotel and passengers to the meeting, on one booking.

  • 04

Send the operator and the tail number

A charter run is booked against the private terminal and the aircraft rather than a flight number. Call dispatch when either one shifts.

Why be driven

How chauffeur service is quoted

Nothing here carries a price. A chauffeur is quoted by the hour against a described trip: send the addresses, the hours and the headcount, and one figure comes back before anybody gets in.

What sets the hours

The drive and the stops first, then the class of vehicle, the hour of the day, and the traffic the route is known for.

By the hour, with a minimum up front

A single run and a day of stops are quoted the same way: an hourly rate for the vehicle, with the minimum stated in the quote.

The vehicle, never the seat

One figure covers the car and the chauffeur, so a party of six shares it.

How to get one

Call dispatch or send the form with the addresses and hours. Three days of notice is preferred, and anything tighter depends on what is free.

The fleet

Which vehicle carries the chauffeur

Every class in the fleet arrives with the same uniformed chauffeur, so this is a question about people and luggage rather than about how well you will be driven.

Eight to ten riders take the stretch limousine, and a chauffeur in uniform comes with each one.

Where we serve it

Cities where a chauffeur is booked most often

Chauffeur service runs across Central Illinois and into the states around it. The figure on each card is that city’s nearest airfield, which is the question behind half the calls.

Each city page names its own pickup points and the runs booked there. The rest of the roster is on the service area hub.

Whichever city the address sits in, the chauffeur comes to it.

What riders say

Riders on the chauffeurs

Andrew, my driver, was fantastic. Excellent communication, ensured my comfort, and impeccable punctuality.

Parris SmithRider review

Our driver was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely hire them again.

Jen DeJong · Rider review

Our driver Andrew arrived on time and got us safely to and from our event.

Meghan Foresman · Rider review

A visiting executive, a board arriving in pieces and a standing Monday pickup are all the same chauffeur with a different schedule around it: that is executive chauffeur service.

Offices that book for somebody else, including agency and university travel, run it through government travel.

Chauffeur questions

What people ask before they hire a chauffeur

The answers below hold wherever the trip starts. Anything airport specific sits on the airport pages.

What is a chauffeur?

A chauffeur is a professional driver hired ahead of time to carry passengers on a planned trip in an assigned vehicle, which is how federal occupation data defines the job. The work covers reading the route, checking and cleaning the vehicle, carrying bags, holding doors and keeping quiet about the back seat.

Read chauffeur vs driver or call (217) 523-5466.

What is the difference between a chauffeur and a driver?

Executive Transportation books a chauffeur by reservation, so the vehicle, the hour and the chauffeur are settled days before the trip. A driver matched by an app arrives in whichever car is nearest, the moment you ask. Only one of the two lets you fix a 5 a.m. pickup a week ahead.

Call (217) 523-5466 to reserve a vehicle.

How is chauffeur service priced?

Executive Transportation quotes every chauffeured trip by the hour for the whole vehicle, with a minimum stated up front, rather than publishing a rate. The hours the trip takes, the vehicle class, the hour of the day and any extra stop set the figure.

Request a Quote with your addresses.

Is a private driver service the same as a chauffeur service?

Largely yes, and callers use the phrases for the same thing: a professional driver, a vehicle you did not have to park, and a booking made in advance. Executive Transportation supplies the vehicle as well as the chauffeur, which is the part a private driver hired directly usually does not.

See the fleet that comes with the chauffeur.

How far ahead should I book a chauffeur?

Executive Transportation asks for three days where you can manage it, and closer to a week when a coach or several vehicles are involved. Dispatch is staffed overnight, so a late request is never refused out of hand: it comes down to which vehicles are still unbooked. Early pickups go first.

Dispatch is at (217) 523-5466, any hour.

Can I hire a chauffeur for a whole day?

Yes. Hold the vehicle and the chauffeur for the block and the car stays with you between stops instead of leaving after the first drop off. Roadshows, site visits, client tours and legislative days all book that way, quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front.

See hourly chauffeur service.

Do you drive outside Central Illinois?

Yes. Executive Transportation runs chauffeured trips across Illinois, Missouri and Indiana and into the states beyond them, including the long runs where driving beats a connecting flight. The quote is built from the hours between the two addresses, whatever state the second one is in.

See long distance car service.

Book the ride

Request a chauffeur

Three things riders mention after the first booking.

  • The hour is yours, not an algorithm’s

You set the pickup time when you book, and the car is there before it rather than on its way.

  • The same standard at 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.

A uniform, a clean vehicle and a chauffeur who knows the route, whatever the hour on the booking.

  • One number for the car

The figure covers the vehicle and the chauffeur, so a group divides it instead of buying seats.
