The Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation

Iowa’s second airport, run at the scale of a good regional one.

CID is a real airport without a real airport’s friction: one terminal, one concourse level, and doors you can actually find. Executive Transportation drives it with a uniformed chauffeur and one quote for the vehicle, and meets private flights at the FBO, as this field requires.

Know the airport

What to know about The Eastern Iowa Airport

The Eastern Iowa Airport, code CID, calls itself the state’s second largest, with nearly 30 percent of Iowa’s passenger traffic, and it has been flying commercially since 1947. Everything happens in the Donald J. Canney Terminal: a main level for check-in and bags, a concourse level above it for gates. Private aircraft are a different arrangement here, by rule.

One terminal, two levels, lettered doors

The airport publishes its maps as a main level and a concourse, which is the whole geography. The terminal frontage runs from Door A at the west end to Door E at the east, the information desk sits in the middle of the lobby, and Guest Services staff will meet a passenger who needs help with luggage or a wheelchair. Nobody gets lost here, which is the point of flying from it.

General aviation may not use the terminal at all

This is the rule that surprises people. The airport states plainly that general aviation aircraft are not allowed to drop off or pick up passengers at the terminal building and that it must be done through the fixed base operator. If you are arriving privately, your car belongs at the FBO, and there is no version of this trip where it waits out front.

The cell phone lot comes before the terminal

A free cell phone waiting lot sits near the airport administration building, before you reach the terminal itself. It is built for friends and family in their own cars. With a booked chauffeur you never need it: your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out.

Where the chauffeur actually meets you

CID lists limousine and car service operators but does not publish a livery lane or a numbered door, which is one more reason your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim rather than at a sign. The bags are ours from the belt to the trunk, and the walk out uses whichever lettered door is nearest the vehicle.

Terminal, general aviation and parking details checked on the airport’s own site, flycid.com, on September 17, 2026, with the fixed base operator address taken from that operator’s own CID page. The airport is partway through rebuilding the Canney Terminal, so read anything time sensitive again shortly before you fly.

Departures and arrivals at The Eastern Iowa Airport

A short building and a clear front door, which makes the timing the only thing worth managing.

Departures

Your door to the lettered doors at CID

  1. Tell us which airline you are onFlight number, scheduled departure and the airline. The terminal frontage runs from Door A to Door E, and the airline decides which end of it saves you a walk.
  2. The pickup is worked back from the flightCheck-in time first, then the run, then a cushion for the stretch of interstate that always misbehaves. A coordinator hands you the pickup time rather than a rule of thumb.
  3. Luggage loaded at your doorThe chauffeur handles the bags at the house or the office and again at the terminal. Nobody in the party carries anything they do not want to.
  4. Dropped at the right doorThe car stops at the frontage, the bags come out, and check-in is a few steps inside. No lot, no shuttle, no walking the length of the building with a suitcase.

Arrivals

Main level back to your door

  1. Give dispatch the flight numberFlight number and scheduled arrival when you book, then a call if the airline changes either. Dispatch is answered at any hour, including the last flight of the night.
  2. Come down to the main levelGates sit on the concourse level, check-in and bags on the main level below. Baggage claim is a short walk from the doors, which is one of the better things about this airport.
  3. Your chauffeur is standing at baggage claimYour chauffeur is inside at the claim area with your name, takes the bags as they come off, and walks you out through whichever lettered door is nearest the vehicle.
  4. A private arrival is met at SignatureIf you came in on a private or charter aircraft, the airport requires the pickup to happen through the fixed base operator, and that is exactly where the car will be.

A phone call is what reschedules it. The vehicle is held against the flight number and scheduled time you gave at booking, so a call is what changes it. Somebody answers (217) 523-5466 whatever the hour, including after the last flight in.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at The Eastern Iowa Airport

Cedar Rapids has the most based general aviation aircraft of any airport in Iowa, and the airport insists that all of it works through the fixed base operator rather than the terminal. That makes the ground plan simple: the car meets the aircraft.

  • 01

Pickup at the FBO door, by airport rule

The airport states that general aviation aircraft may not drop off or pick up passengers at the terminal building. Your chauffeur is at the fixed base operator entrance, which is both the convenient answer and the only permitted one.

  • 02

    Luggage loaded plane-side

Where the ramp allows it, luggage is loaded beside the aircraft itself. Where it does not, the handover is at the FBO entrance a few steps away, and the car is already outside it.

  • 03

Crew rest and a client visit, one booking

A crew heading for rest and passengers heading for a plant or a client ride the same booking, in one vehicle or two, without a second car being dispatched an hour later.

  • 04

The whole cabin in one vehicle

Fourteen seats with a stand-up aisle takes a full cabin in one run, with room for hard cases. This field handles everything from light singles to widebodies, so the party size varies a lot.

We need the tail number, the operator and the scheduled arrival at booking, and a phone call is what changes any of them afterward. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to CID

An easy airport at the end does not shorten the road to it. This is the part of the trip a chauffeur is actually taking off your hands.

The car is quoted, never the seats

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, and a coordinator plans the weather and the road work into those hours. Six people flying together share one vehicle.

No lot, no shuttle, no luggage walk

Loaded at your door, unloaded at the terminal frontage, and met inside at baggage claim on the way home. Nothing in that sequence involves a parking bus.

A long run worth spending well

This is a serious drive. In the back seat it is billable, restful or both, and somebody else is watching the road and the weather.

Chauffeurs since 2004

Airport work has been this company’s core business since 2004. Chauffeurs arrive uniformed and early, briefed on the rules of the specific field, including the ones about private aircraft.

The fleet

Picking the vehicle for CID

Every CID transfer is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so a coordinator only needs two numbers from you: how many people, and how many bags.

Uniformed chauffeurs come as standard on all of them. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 when the party would rather arrive as one.

Cities we connect to CID

Where our Cedar Rapids runs start

Executive Transportation drives to The Eastern Iowa Airport in both directions on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the CID work comes from, and each one has a page of its own.

Every figure is a clear-road drive to the terminal. Give a coordinator the flight rather than the drive, because the pickup is built backward from your departure and the Mississippi crossings are where a schedule slips.

The quote covers the vehicle, not the seats, from any of these cities.

Park or be driven

Park at CID, or be driven to it

The airport publishes its own rates, which makes half of this easy to compare. The other half is the drive, and that is the half nobody costs properly.

  • Long term, per day$11The cheaper of the two lots, and the one a week-long trip belongs in.
  • Short term, per day$18Closest to the doors, charged in steps after the first twenty minutes, which are free.
  • Cell phone lotFreeNear the administration building before the terminal, for a driver who is only waiting.

Multiply the lot by the trip, add the fuel both ways, then add the day you spent driving. What the same trip costs with a chauffeur.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between CID and other airports

Eastern Iowa has several fields within an easy drive of each other, and the fare or the schedule often decides which one you actually use. We drive the gap on one booking.

Each card is the drive between The Eastern Iowa Airport and the airport named, in either direction. The reservation needs both flight numbers and both scheduled times, plus a call if either airline moves one.

One chauffeur, both terminals, one quote for the car.

CID questions

What people ask before booking a CID car

The answers below use The Eastern Iowa Airport’s own published information, checked on flycid.com in September 2026, plus our own calibrated drive figures.

Where does the chauffeur meet you at The Eastern Iowa Airport?

Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside the terminal at baggage claim on the main level. Your chauffeur is waiting there with your name, takes the luggage off the belt, and walks you out to the vehicle through whichever of the lettered doors, A at the west end to E at the east, is nearest to it.

See how airport transportation works.

Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at CID?

Executive Transportation meets private, charter and corporate aircraft at Signature Flight Support on the general aviation side, never at the terminal. The airport requires it: it states that general aviation aircraft are not allowed to drop off or pick up passengers at the terminal building and that it must be done through the fixed base operator.

Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

How far ahead should I book a car service to CID?

Executive Transportation prefers 72 hours’ notice for a Cedar Rapids transfer, and closer to a week when the party needs a coach. Call anytime: short-notice trips depend on what is available, and the first flights of the day fill first. Flight, headcount and bag count hold a vehicle.

Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.

What happens if my flight into Cedar Rapids is late?

Executive Transportation needs a call from you, not a screen from us. The vehicle sits against the flight number and scheduled arrival given at booking, so the pickup only moves when somebody tells dispatch to move it. The phone is answered at any hour, including the last arrival of the evening.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

How is the price for a CID car service set?

Executive Transportation prices a Cedar Rapids run as an hourly rate for the vehicle and chauffeur, and the written quote names the minimum hours before you commit. How long the CID run takes decides the figure, so the vehicle size, the pickup address and whether it is one leg or a round trip all feed in. The quote covers the whole vehicle, so a party of six is billed once rather than six times.

Request a Quote with your dates.

Which vehicle should a group book for Cedar Rapids?

Executive Transportation asks for the bag count first. Executive sedans carry two to three passengers, luxury SUVs five to six, Sprinter vans fourteen, and coaches take parties up to thirty-five. A team with equipment cases often needs a size up from what the headcount suggests.

Compare the full fleet.

What does parking cost at CID?

The airport publishes $11 a day in the long-term lot and $18 a day in short term, with the first twenty minutes free and stepped rates after that. Both figures come off flycid.com, read in September 2026. Multiply by the length of the trip and add the fuel before deciding to leave a car there.

Compare it against what a car service costs.

Can you drive between Cedar Rapids and Chicago O’Hare?

Executive Transportation drives CID to O’Hare and back as a single booking, which is the usual answer when a connection collapses or the international flight only leaves from Chicago. The luggage stays in the vehicle and the chauffeur handles the bags at both ends.

See the O’Hare airport page.

Book the ride

Request your CID ride

Three things riders mention after a Cedar Rapids run.

  • One figure for the car itself

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, minimum stated up front, so weather and road work are planned into the hours. Six travelers share one vehicle, not six seats.

  • Door to door, bags included

Loaded at your door, set down at the terminal frontage, met inside at baggage claim on the way back.

  • Dispatch answers at any hour

The first flight out and the last flight in are most of this work, and a person answers the phone at both ends of the day.
