Peoria Airport Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation
Three airlines on the board, one concourse under them, and a car at the door for all of it.
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International carries three airlines and 11 destinations out of a single concourse opened in 2011, with free parking in the general lots. Executive Transportation works both ends of it, from a 5 a.m. Charlotte departure to a corporate jet on the Byerly ramp.

What to know about Peoria International
General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport, code PIA, is the largest downstate Illinois regional field and the only one with three airlines on the board. The terminal is a single concourse built in 2011, and the general aviation side of the field runs separately, through its own operator.
One floor does ticketing, bags and rental cars
Peoria describes a 125,000 square foot terminal completed in 2011 that puts the ticket counters, baggage claim and rental car desks on one floor in the main concourse, built around 14 gates. For a traveler that means the check-in line, the bag belt and the rental desk are all within sight of the same doors, and the walk in from the terminal entrance is short enough to make in a suit in July.
Three airlines, and the counter closes earlier than you think
American reaches Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas-Fort Worth. United reaches Denver and Chicago O’Hare. Allegiant runs the leisure routes: Las Vegas, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix Mesa, Tampa St. Petersburg and Fort Myers through Punta Gorda, with Destin, Sarasota and Denver listed as seasonal. The airport counts 11 destinations across the three, asks you to arrive two hours early, and warns that every airline ticket counter closes 45 minutes before takeoff.
Parking is free in the general lots, and metered at the door
Peoria states that parking is free in the general parking areas regardless of the length of your trip, across the main lot north of the terminal, an overflow lot to the west and the Byerly lot to the east. The metered spaces near drop-off and baggage claim are meant for visits of under two hours, and the gated Premier Lot beside the west entrance has had a waiting list for passes since 2025. A shuttle covers the lots from 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The airport lists rides, but it does not vouch for them
Peoria publishes a CityLink bus stop at the F-1 station in the main parking lot and a list of local cab and car companies, with a note that the list is a convenience and an informational service rather than an endorsement. Nothing on the site reserves a lane for chauffeured vehicles, which is why your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim rather than at a door you have to guess at.
Terminal, airline, parking and ground transportation details checked on the airport’s own site, flypia.com, on September 17, 2026. Regional route maps move with the season, so confirm the flight with the airline before you buy.

Departures and arrivals at PIA
One concourse, one set of doors, and a counter that shuts 45 minutes before your aircraft moves.
Departures
Your door to the PIA concourse
- Give a coordinator the flightThe airline, the flight number and the departure time. Allegiant and the early American banks sit at opposite ends of the clock, so the carrier tells us most of what we need.
- We aim at the counter, not the gatePeoria asks travelers to arrive two hours ahead and closes every airline ticket counter 45 minutes before takeoff. The pickup time is built backward from that deadline, then the drive, then a cushion for weather.
- Bags loaded where you standThe chauffeur takes the luggage at your address, sets it in the trunk, and takes it out again at the terminal. Nobody drags a case across a parking lot at either end.
- Dropped at the terminal doorsTicketing, bag drop and the rental desks all sit on the same floor a few steps inside. You are in the security line while a driver who parked would still be waiting on the lot shuttle.
Arrivals
The bag belt back to your door
- Send the inbound flight numberThe flight number and the scheduled arrival at booking, and a call to dispatch if either changes. Somebody is on the phone at any hour, including the late Las Vegas and Florida returns.
- Claim the bags on the main floorBaggage claim sits on the same level as ticketing and the rental counters, so there is no elevator, no shuttle and no second building between the belt and the doors.
- Your chauffeur is waiting at the beltPeoria does not publish a dedicated lane for chauffeured vehicles, so nobody waits outside. Your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the cases, and walks you out to the vehicle.
- Home, or to the plant floorHalf our Peoria arrivals are heading straight into a meeting and half are heading home to Springfield, Pekin or Lincoln. Either way the driving is finished for the day.
Private jets and charter
Private jet and charter flights at Peoria
Peoria has carried corporate aviation for as long as it has carried airlines, and a fair share of the business flying in this region never sees the concourse at all. Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of the field on the same terms as the terminal.
- 01
The chauffeur waits at the FBO lobby
Private, charter and corporate flights clear through the fixed base operator rather than the airline doors. Your car is parked at that entrance, so there is no walk through a concourse you were never booked into.
- 02
Luggage beside the aircraft where allowed
Where the operator and the ramp permit it, cases move between the hold and the trunk at the airplane. Where they do not, the handoff is at the FBO door and the car is already there.
- 03
One reservation for the crew and the passengers
The flight crew needs a hotel and the passengers need a plant tour or a boardroom. Both ride on one booking, in one vehicle or two, without anybody waiting for a car to come back around.
- 04
A Sprinter for the visiting team
Eight or ten arriving executives, their cases and a stand-up aisle fit one Sprinter. Larger groups take a coach. The quote covers the vehicle rather than the seats in it.
Where general aviation runs at PIA
- Byerly Aviation6100 E.M. Dirksen Parkway, Peoria, Illinois 61607The fixed base operator Peoria names on its own general aviation page, with fuel, hangars, maintenance and its own ramp on the field. Byerly has been the general aviation front door at this airport for decades, and it is where your chauffeur waits.
Give dispatch the tail number, the operator and the scheduled arrival at booking, and call if the slot moves. Peoria also operates Mt. Hawley on the north side of the city for business and general aviation, so tell us which field you are landing at. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven
Four reasons to be driven to Peoria
Free parking makes the lot sound like the easy answer. It is the two drives on either side of the flight that actually cost you the day.
One run, one number for the vehicle
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, so a coordinator plans the Interstate 474 stretch into the hours. Five colleagues on one flight share one vehicle.
No lot, no shuttle, no cold walk
The airport shuttle covers the lots from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. A chauffeur covers your driveway to the terminal doors at any hour at all.
A working hour in each direction
Seventy-five minutes each way is a deck read, a call block, or sleep before an early bank. None of it happens with your hands on the wheel.
Chauffeurs who run this route weekly
Executive Transportation has driven the Springfield to Peoria run since 2004. The chauffeur arrives in uniform, early, and knows which door your airline sits behind.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Where our Peoria runs start
Executive Transportation drives to Peoria International from across Central Illinois, in both directions, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the Peoria work comes from most, and each has a page of its own.
Each number below is the clear-road run to the terminal. Give dispatch the flight rather than the drive, because the counter closes 45 minutes before takeoff and we plan around that.
Travelmath cross-checks the clear-road figures above, and each one is a best case rather than a promise. We also collect from Pekin, Canton, Galesburg, Macomb and Lincoln, and from any address between them.
Whichever city you start from, the quote covers the whole vehicle.
Park or be driven
Park at Peoria, or be driven to it
Peoria airport parking is the figure everybody checks first, and at the general lots it is zero. The interesting numbers are the ones next to it.
- General lots$0Peoria states parking is free in the general parking areas regardless of the length of your trip, across three lots.
- Meters at the door2 hoursThe metered spaces near drop-off and baggage claim are meant for visits of under two hours, not for a week away.
- Premier LotWaiting listThe gated lot closest to the west terminal entrance has had a waiting list for passes since 2025, so it is not a plan.
Free parking is the rule at three of the four Central Illinois regionals, so the real question is which airport your flight leaves from. Read the full comparison.

Peoria questions
What people ask before booking a Peoria airport car
The answers below use the airport’s own published pages at flypia.com, checked in September 2026, and the calibrated drive times we build schedules from.
How long does it take to drive from Springfield to Peoria airport?
Executive Transportation schedules the Springfield run to Peoria International at about 75 miles and roughly an hour and fifteen minutes on clear roads. Treat it as a floor, because weather and construction both add to it. We build the pickup backward from the counter deadline rather than from your gate time.
Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.
Where does the chauffeur meet you at Peoria International?
Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside at baggage claim, which sits on the main floor beside ticketing and the rental desks. Peoria publishes no dedicated lane for chauffeured vehicles, so your chauffeur is waiting at the belt with your name, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle.
See how airport transportation works.
Is parking free at Peoria airport?
Yes, in the general lots. Peoria states that parking is free in the general parking areas regardless of the length of your trip. Metered spaces near the doors are meant for visits under two hours, and the gated Premier Lot has had a waiting list for passes since 2025. A lot shuttle runs from 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Request a Quote and skip the lot altogether.
Which airlines fly out of Peoria and where do they go?
The airport lists 11 destinations on three airlines. American reaches Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas-Fort Worth, United reaches Denver and O’Hare, and Allegiant flies leisure routes including Las Vegas, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix Mesa and Tampa St. Petersburg. Several Allegiant routes are seasonal, so confirm with the airline.
See how the four regional fields compare.
How early should the car collect me for a Peoria flight?
Peoria asks travelers to arrive two hours before departure and closes every airline ticket counter 45 minutes before takeoff. Executive Transportation sets the pickup from those two deadlines plus the drive from your address, then adds a cushion for weather. Give a coordinator the flight and they will name the time.
Give a coordinator the flight at (217) 523-5466.
What does a car service from Springfield to Peoria airport cost?
Executive Transportation quotes the vehicle and chauffeur by the hour, with the minimum hours stated up front in the written quote. The hours the run takes decide the figure, and so does the vehicle class and whether the return leg is held too. One quote covers the whole vehicle, so six travelers share it rather than buying six seats.
Request a Quote with your dates.
Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at Peoria?
Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of Peoria International as well as the terminal. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal, load beside the airplane where the ramp allows it, and carry flight crew and passengers on one booking.
Tell us the tail number and the operator when you book the chauffeur.
Can you drive a group from Peoria to O’Hare when the fare is better there?
Yes. Executive Transportation runs Peoria to Chicago O’Hare as a single booking, about 172 miles and roughly two hours fifty on clear roads, and back again. For a group it is often the cheaper answer once you compare one vehicle against several regional tickets.
See the O’Hare car service page.

Quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, with the minimum named before you ride, so Interstate 474 traffic is planned into the hours. Six colleagues on the same Peoria flight ride in one car.
Timed to the counter, not the gate
