Midway Airport (MDW) Car Service & Chauffeured Transfers

One terminal, two roadways, and one lane where a livery car is allowed to stand.

Midway is the compact Chicago field: a single building, three concourses, and a short walk between the door and the gate. Executive Transportation meets airline passengers inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and meets private and charter flights at the operators on the general aviation side.

Know the airport

What to know about Chicago Midway

Chicago Midway International Airport, code MDW, is one terminal building with three concourses, A, B and C. That is the whole geography of the place, which is why it reads as the easy Chicago airport. The part worth knowing before you land is the pickup: Midway sends chauffeured cars to one specific lane, and private jets do not use the terminal at all.

One building, three concourses, no train to ride

Concourses A, B and C hang off a single terminal, and the airport says arriving domestic passengers can reach all of them without clearing the security checkpoint again. Nothing about a Midway connection involves a shuttle bus or an automated train, so the walk from your gate to the door is short and predictable, bags and all.

Doors 1 and 2, lower level center lane

This is the rule that decides where the vehicle ends up. Midway routes liveries and pre-arranged cars to the lower level center lane at Doors 1 and 2, and keeps livery parking nearby, typically a five to seven minute walk. Your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out through those doors, so the bags are ours from the carousel to the trunk.

Departures upstairs, arrivals downstairs

Departing passengers are dropped at the terminal door on the upper level roadway, at whichever concourse you are flying from. Arrivals come out on the lower level. The airport states that unattended vehicles outside the terminal are ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, which is why your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim with your name rather than parked at the front of the building.

Private and charter flights work differently here

Midway lists two fixed base operators on its own general aviation page, Atlantic Aviation on Laramie Avenue and Signature Flight Support on Central Avenue. A private, charter or corporate arrival never touches the concourses or the lower level lane. The car meets the aircraft at the operator’s door instead, which is a different address and a different part of the field.

Terminal, livery and general aviation details checked on the Chicago Department of Aviation’s own Midway pages, flychicago.com, on September 17, 2026. Parking rates and the concourse layout were read on the same site on September 15, 2026. The airport edits these pages, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.

Departures

Your door to your concourse at Midway

  1. Send the flight and the concourseAirline, flight number, scheduled departure and the concourse letter on your boarding pass. A reservation coordinator holds the vehicle on that.
  2. The pickup time is built backward from the flightWe start at what your airline asks of you, add the run north, then a cushion for the weekday peaks on the Chicago approaches. Our guide to leaving early enough shows the same arithmetic for the other Chicago field.
  3. The luggage stops being yoursThe chauffeur is out of the car before you reach the trunk, and the luggage is his job from there.
  4. Upper level, at your concourseDeparting passengers are dropped at the terminal door of any concourse on the upper level roadway. Tell us the letter and you step out in front of the right doors rather than walking the length of the building.

Arrivals

Doors 1 and 2, back to your door

  1. Book with the flight numberThe flight number and the scheduled arrival are what the vehicle is set from. If either changes, call dispatch: somebody answers at three in the morning.
  2. Claim your bags on the lower levelBaggage claim sits below the concourses. Your chauffeur is standing there with your name, and the luggage is his job from the moment it comes off the carousel.
  3. Out through Doors 1 and 2 togetherMidway sends liveries to the lower level center lane at Doors 1 and 2, so that is the way your chauffeur walks you out. The airport keeps livery parking close by, typically a five to seven minute walk, and the bags ride with the chauffeur for all of it.
  4. Nobody is left waiting outsideMidway tickets and tows unattended vehicles outside the terminal, so your chauffeur does not sit at the front of the building. He is inside at baggage claim, and the vehicle is where the airport allows it.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at Midway

Midway’s general aviation side is busy in its own right, and it has nothing to do with the concourses. Executive Transportation drives to both fixed base operators here, so a private, charter or corporate aircraft is met with the same uniformed chauffeur and the same held hour as an airline arrival.

  • 01

The car is at the FBO door, not the concourse

General aviation passengers never see Doors 1 and 2. Your chauffeur waits at the operator’s entrance on the far side of the field, which means no baggage claim, no center lane and no walk from livery parking. Give us the operator when you book and that is where the vehicle sits.

  • 02

    Bags loaded beside the aircraft

Where the operator and the ramp allow it, we load and unload at the aircraft steps. That is most of the reason to fly privately in the first place. Where ramp rules say otherwise, the transfer happens at the FBO door and the car is already there.

  • 03

Crew to a hotel, passengers downtown

A flight crew heading to a hotel and passengers heading downtown are the same trip to us. We carry both on one reservation, in one vehicle or two, instead of making the crew wait for a car to come back.

  • 04

One Sprinter takes the whole manifest

Ten or twelve people off a charter fit one Sprinter van with room for hard cases and a stand-up aisle. Bigger parties move up to a coach. It is still one quote for the vehicle rather than a price per seat.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to Midway

Midway is an easy airport to walk and a tedious one to reach by car, because the last stretch is city driving on someone else’s schedule. A chauffeur takes that part off you.

One figure covers the vehicle

Midway transfers are quoted by the hour for the vehicle and chauffeur, minimum stated up front, and the hours allow for the interchanges this run is known for. Five colleagues on one flight buy one vehicle between them instead of five seats.

No lot, no shuttle, no garage ticket

The economy shuttle and the garage levels are somebody else’s morning. Your chauffeur loads at your door and stops at the concourse door your boarding pass names.

The back seat is usable time

Read the deck, take the call, or sleep before a 6 a.m. departure. Riders tell us the hour back is the part they actually bought.

Chauffeurs who know the lane

Our chauffeurs have run Chicago airports since 2004. They know which roadway, which door and which lane Midway expects a livery car to use, which is why nothing about the pickup is improvised.

The fleet

Fleet for this run

Every Midway transfer is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so the only real question is what your party and its luggage fit into. Tell a coordinator the headcount and the bag count.

Whichever of them you book, the chauffeur arrives in uniform. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 when the party wants to arrive together and be noticed doing it.

Cities we connect to MDW

Where our Midway runs start

Executive Transportation drives to Chicago Midway from across Central Illinois and back again, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the Midway work comes from most, and each one has a page of its own.

Each figure is a clear-road drive to the Midway terminal. Book against the flight rather than the drive: we build the pickup backward from your departure, and I-55 into the city runs longer in the weekday peaks.

The pickup city changes the distance, never the fact that one figure buys the whole car.

Park or be driven

Park at Midway, or be driven to it

Parking is the figure most travelers price first, and it is rarely the biggest line on the trip. Here is what the airport charges, and what the driving costs before anyone pays for a space.

  • Economy garage and lot$15For 1 to 24 hours at 5050 W. 55th Street, then a free shuttle that runs every ten to fifteen minutes.
  • Terminal garage, daily levels$43For 8 to 24 hours on levels 2 to 6 at 5701 S. Cicero Avenue, the building beside the terminal.
  • The driving itself$287.28A Springfield round trip of about 378 miles at the IRS business rate of 76 cents a mile, before parking.

Four days in the economy garage plus that mileage lands near $347, and the meter keeps running while you are away. See the full Midway parking and terminal guide.

The parking figures above come from flychicago.com, read on September 15, 2026, with taxes in. The driving figure prices a Springfield to Midway round trip at the irs.gov business rate of 76 cents a mile, current from July 1 to December 31, 2026. A Midway transfer itself is quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so ask a coordinator for the figure rather than assuming one.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between Midway and other airports

Chicago has more than one airport, and connections do not always respect that. When the onward flight leaves from a different field, we drive the gap in one vehicle with the luggage untouched.

Each card is the drive between Midway and the airport named, in either direction. Send both flight numbers and both scheduled times when you book, and call dispatch if either one moves.

Both fields on one reservation, and one figure for the car.

The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.

Parris Smith · Rider review

Teams that fly Southwest out of Midway tend to book the same run again and again, which is what corporate airport transfers are arranged around: one trip, one team, or a whole travel calendar.

Midway questions

What people ask before booking a Midway car

These answers use the Chicago Department of Aviation’s published guidance for Midway, read on flychicago.com in September 2026, and our own calibrated drive times.

Where does the chauffeur meet you at Midway Airport?

Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out through Doors 1 and 2 to the lower level center lane, which is where the airport sends liveries and pre-arranged cars. Midway keeps livery parking nearby, typically a five to seven minute walk, so the bags are ours from the carousel to the trunk.

See how airport transportation works.

What happens if my flight into Midway is delayed?

Executive Transportation needs a call to dispatch the moment the delay is on the board. The reservation is pinned to the flight number and scheduled arrival you gave us, which is why a phone call, and not a screen on our side, is what changes the pickup. Somebody answers at any hour, including the awkward ones.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

How much does parking at Midway Airport cost?

Executive Transportation checked the airport’s posted rates on September 15, 2026: $15.00 for 1 to 24 hours in the economy garage and lot, and $43.00 for 8 to 24 hours on the terminal garage daily levels, taxes included. Reserved spaces add $10 a day. A chauffeured transfer leaves nothing in a lot at all.

Read the Midway parking guide.

Is Midway easier to get through than O’Hare?

Executive Transportation drives both. Midway is a single terminal with concourses A, B and C, and the airport says arriving domestic passengers reach all three without clearing security again. O’Hare spreads over four buildings linked by a transit train. The flight schedule usually decides it, and we drive to whichever one wins.

Compare the O’Hare car service page.

Do you pick up private jets and charter flights at Midway?

Executive Transportation drives Midway’s general aviation side as well as the concourses. The airport lists two operators, Atlantic Aviation on Laramie Avenue and Signature Flight Support on Central Avenue. We meet aircraft at the FBO door, load beside the aircraft where the ramp allows it, and carry crew and passengers on one booking.

Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

Can you drive between Midway and O’Hare?

Executive Transportation runs Midway to O’Hare and back as one booking, with the bags staying where you put them. There is no rail or shuttle link between the two fields, and a self-transfer across the city usually costs more time than the connection has. Send both flight numbers and both scheduled times.

See the O’Hare to Midway route.

Which vehicle should a group book for Midway?

Executive Transportation runs executive sedans for two to three passengers, luxury SUVs for five to six, Sprinter vans for fourteen and coaches for parties up to thirty-five. Checked bags usually decide the answer before headcount does, so tell a coordinator how much luggage is coming with the group.

Compare the full fleet.

How is the price of a Midway car service worked out?

Executive Transportation quotes a Midway run as hours for the vehicle and chauffeur, and the written quote names the minimum before anybody rides. The hours come from the pickup city, the hour of the day and whether the return leg is held on the same booking, and the vehicle class sets the rate. One figure covers everyone in the vehicle, so nobody buys a seat.

Request your Midway ride

Three things riders say made the difference on a Midway run.

  • Quoted by the hour, written before you ride

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum named in the quote, and the hours allow for the interchanges. Six colleagues arrive on one figure instead of six.

  • Door to door, with nothing left in a lot

The chauffeur loads at your door and stops at the concourse your boarding pass names. No garage ticket and no shuttle with a roller bag.

  • Dispatch answers day and night

The 5 a.m. run north and the last inbound of the night are both normal here, and the line is answered for each of them.
