Madison Airport (MSN) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation

A small terminal with numbered doors, and a chauffeur standing at the right one.

Dane County Regional is the rare airport where everything happens within sight of the front doors, which is exactly why the door number matters. Executive Transportation sends a uniformed chauffeur to collect you, loads the luggage, and stops at the entrance your airline uses instead of leaving you to work it out with a suitcase in each hand.

Know the airport

What to know about Dane County Regional

Dane County Regional Airport, code MSN, is Madison’s airport and works out of a single terminal on two levels: a ticketing level and a concourse level above baggage claim. It is small enough that the airport describes its ground transportation by door number rather than by lane. Private jet and charter traffic works separately, from the general aviation ramp on the east side.

One terminal, two levels, numbered doors

The airport publishes a ticketing level map and a concourse level map, and that is the whole building. Ground transportation is described the same plain way: taxis at the north end of baggage claim at Door 7, rideshare outside Door 6 to the right along the terminal front, rental car booths at baggage claim with the lot outside Door 6. Nothing here needs a train or a shuttle bus.

The terminal is not open around the clock

Madison states that normal terminal hours run from 4:00 a.m. until the last evening flight, and that airline ticket counters open approximately 90 minutes before the first departure. That shapes an early booking more than anything else on this page: there is no advantage to being dropped at 3:30 a.m., and a coordinator will build the pickup to the counter rather than to the door.

Where your chauffeur waits for you

The airport names doors for taxis and rideshare but publishes no separate livery lane, so the vehicle uses the designated commercial vehicle pickup area and your chauffeur waits inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out of the right door. On a building this size that is a walk of seconds, not a hike through a garage.

The airline sets everything else here

Madison is compact enough that the airline decides everything: which entrance is closest, how long the counter line runs, and when your bags will actually appear. Give a reservation coordinator the airline and flight number and the rest is arithmetic we do rather than guesswork you do.

Terminal, door, pickup and parking details checked on the airport’s own site, msnairport.com, on September 17, 2026. Madison revises these pages, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.

Departures

Your door to the Madison entrance

  1. Send the airline and the flightWe need the carrier, the flight number and the departure time on the ticket. A coordinator holds the vehicle on that, and takes the headcount and the bag count while you are on the phone.
  2. The pickup is built backward from the counterTicket counters open roughly 90 minutes before the first departure, so an early flight does not reward an absurd pickup. We work to when the counter is useful to you, then add the run and a cushion.
  3. Bags go in at your doorThe chauffeur is out of the car before you reach it, loads the luggage, and unloads at the terminal entrance rather than the back of a lot.
  4. Dropped at the terminal entranceMadison has one passenger building, so the drop is the door nearest your airline’s counter. Name the airline when you book and the chauffeur picks it.

Arrivals

From the bag belt to your driveway

  1. Give us the flight numberThe flight number and the scheduled arrival go on the booking, and a call resets them if the schedule changes. That call reaches a person at any hour, which counts on a last flight in.
  2. Collect your bagsBaggage claim sits at the bottom of the building with the rental counters beside it. Door 6 and Door 7 are both a few steps away.
  3. Your chauffeur is waiting beside the MSN carouselTaxis hold at the north end of baggage claim by Door 7 and rideshare works outside Door 6. Your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim with your name, takes the bags, and walks you out of the right door to the vehicle in the commercial vehicle area.
  4. Late landings are the normal caseThe terminal runs to the last evening flight, and a good share of the Madison work we do lands after the counters have closed. The car is there either way; tell dispatch what time the wheels are down.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at Madison

A fair amount of the business flying into Madison never touches the airline building at all. Executive Transportation drives the general aviation ramp as well as the terminal doors, so a private, charter or corporate arrival gets the same uniformed chauffeur and the same held vehicle as a scheduled flight.

  • 01

    Pickup at the FBO door

Charter and corporate aircraft are handled through the fixed base operator, which has its own terminal and ramp away from the passenger gates. Your chauffeur waits at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal, so none of the door numbers on the airline side apply to you.

  • 02

    Luggage loaded plane-side

Where the operator and the ramp allow it, bags go from the aircraft into the car without a luggage cart in between. Where they do not, the transfer happens at the FBO door and the car is already there.

  • 03

Hotel for the crew, meeting for the passengers

Crews need a hotel and passengers usually need to be somewhere with a start time. Both go on one booking, in one vehicle or two, without anybody waiting on a second car.

  • 04

    A Sprinter for the delegation

A jet full of executives or a visiting board fits one Sprinter, with a stand-up aisle and room for hard cases. Bigger parties move to a coach, still quoted for the vehicle.

What we need is the tail number, the operator and the time you expect wheels on the ground. If that time slides, one call to dispatch resets the car, day or night. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to Madison

Madison is an easy airport. The drive to it is the part that eats a working day, and that is the part a chauffeur takes off your hands.

One hourly figure for the car, not per head

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, and a coordinator builds the hours from the schedule. Four colleagues on the same flight share one figure rather than buying four seats.

Door to door, no lot to remember

No Economy Lot ticket to lose, no row number to photograph, no walk back to a cold car at the end of a trip. Luggage goes in at your door and comes out at the terminal entrance.

The drive becomes working time

Most riders on this run bill the time they spend in the back seat. Take the calls, read the papers, or sleep off the early start.

Uniformed chauffeurs since 2004

Airport work has been the core of this company since 2004. A chauffeur turns up in uniform, ahead of the time you were given, and knows where a car belongs at a terminal this compact.

The fleet

Fleet for this run

Madison transfers are quoted by the hour, for the vehicle. Tell a coordinator the headcount and the luggage and they will tell you which one you need, not the other way around.

Each of these arrives with a uniformed chauffeur at the wheel. For eight to ten who want the arrival to look like one, there is the stretch limousine.

Cities we connect to MSN

Where our Madison runs start

Executive Transportation drives to Dane County Regional from across Central Illinois, in both directions, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the Madison work comes from most, and each has a page of its own.

The times below are clear-road drives to the terminal. Book against the flight instead of the drive: a coordinator sets the pickup from your departure and builds the cushion in.

The quote is for the vehicle no matter which city it sets off from.

Park or be driven

Park at Madison, or be driven to it

Madison is one of the cheaper airports in the region to leave a car at, so the honest comparison is not the parking line. It is what the drive itself costs before you reach the barrier.

  • Cheapest official lot$10Per day in the Economy Lot, with the Surface Lot at $12 and the Ramp at $14.
  • Short stay$20Per day in the hourly lot, which runs $2 an hour for the first six hours.
  • The drive itself$402.80A Springfield round trip of 530 miles at the IRS business rate of 76 cents a mile, before any parking at all.

Five days in the Economy Lot on top of that mileage lands near $453, and none of it counts the working day the drive takes from you. See how a car service is priced against that total.

Parking rates from msnairport.com, checked September 17, 2026, calculated daily from the time the ticket is issued. That 76 cents a mile is the irs.gov business rate for July 1 to December 31, 2026, applied to the Springfield round trip above. Our side of the comparison is quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, and a coordinator works out yours on the call.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between Madison and other airports

Madison is often the arrival and somewhere else is the departure. When the two do not match, Executive Transportation drives the gap in one vehicle with the bags left where they are.

Each card is the drive between Dane County Regional and the airport named, in either direction. Give us both flight numbers and both scheduled times, and call dispatch if one of them moves.

One car, one booking, both ends of the journey.

Madison questions

What people ask before booking an MSN car

The answers below use Dane County Regional’s own published guidance, checked on msnairport.com in September 2026, together with our calibrated drive times.

How far ahead should I book a car service to Madison?

Executive Transportation prefers 72 hours’ notice for a Dane County Regional transfer and about a week when a group needs a coach. Call anytime, because short-notice work depends on what is free in the fleet. A coordinator needs the airline, the flight number and the headcount to hold a vehicle for you.

Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.

Where does the chauffeur meet you at MSN?

Executive Transportation meets arrivals inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle in the designated commercial vehicle pickup area. Madison publishes taxis at the north end of baggage claim by Door 7 and rideshare outside Door 6, but no separate livery lane, so the chauffeur picks the door for you.

See how airport transportation works.

What time does the Madison terminal open?

Dane County Regional states that normal terminal hours run from 4:00 a.m. until the last evening flight, and that airline ticket counters open roughly 90 minutes before the first departure. Executive Transportation builds an early pickup to the counter rather than the door, so nobody stands outside a locked terminal.

Ask a coordinator at (217) 523-5466 what your pickup time works out to.

What happens if my flight into Madison is late?

Executive Transportation works from the flight number and scheduled arrival on your booking, not from a screen in an office, so a delay only moves the car when somebody tells us. Call dispatch as soon as you know and the pickup is reset. The phone is answered at every hour.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

How is the price for an MSN car service set?

Executive Transportation quotes a Madison run by the hour for the vehicle and chauffeur, and the written quote states the minimum hours before you ride. Door to door, the hours the MSN run takes, the vehicle class and whether you need one leg or a return trip set the figure. Because the quote is for the whole vehicle, six colleagues ride on one figure rather than buying six tickets.

Request a Quote with your dates.

Which vehicle should a group book for Madison?

Executive Transportation puts two or three travelers in an executive sedan, five or six in a luxury SUV, fourteen in a Sprinter van and up to thirty-five in a coach. What usually decides it is the luggage rather than the people, so give a coordinator the checked bag count too.

Compare the full fleet.

Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at Madison?

Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of Dane County Regional as well as the airline terminal. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at the FBO door, load luggage plane-side where the operator allows it, and carry crew and passengers on one booking. A Sprinter moves a whole delegation in one vehicle.

Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

Can you drive from Madison to Milwaukee or O’Hare?

Executive Transportation drives Dane County Regional to Milwaukee Mitchell, Chicago O’Hare, Chicago Rockford and Dubuque as single bookings, luggage untouched between the two fields. It is the usual fix when the cheap outbound and the convenient return are not from the same airport. Send both flight numbers.

See every airport we drive.

Request your MSN ride

Three things riders point to after a Madison run.

  • Per vehicle, never per seat

Quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so a group rides on one figure and the coordinator has already planned for the weather and the traffic.

  • Door to door, no lot and no ticket

Luggage loaded at your door and set down at the terminal entrance. Nothing to park, nothing to find again in the dark.

  • Dispatch answers day and night

The last flight in and the first flight out are most of this work, and a person answers the phone at both.
