Dayton, Ohio · Chauffeured airport transfers
Dayton Airport (DAY) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation
A terminal that will not let anyone sit outside it. A chauffeur at baggage claim solves that.
Dayton is an easy airport to move through and an unforgiving one to wait outside, because the airport does not allow anybody to park or sit in front of the terminal. Executive Transportation sends a uniformed chauffeur who loads at your door, drops you at the terminal door, meets you at baggage claim on the way home, and meets private and charter aircraft at the FBO.

Know the airport
What to know about Dayton International
Dayton International Airport, code DAY, runs one passenger building with Concourse A and Concourse B off it, and it is unusually specific about what vehicles may do outside. Reading that before you arrive is most of the preparation this airport needs. Private and charter flights use the general aviation ramp instead of the terminal.
Nobody sits in front of the terminal
The airport states it plainly: there is no parking, or sitting, in front of the terminal, and you must be actively loading or unloading the vehicle. That single rule is why a family member circling the loop for a delayed arrival is a worse plan here than at most airports, and why a chauffeur is a better one.
The airport marks its own pickup zones
Rideshare has its own signed area: Dayton says all TNC pickups take place under the Commercial Ground Transportation pickup zone signs, marked at the first crosswalk entrance to the terminal, near the booth. Taxis sit somewhere else entirely, next to the valet booth directly in front of the building, and they run from 7 a.m. to midnight, or 30 minutes past the last arriving flight.
What the airport says about prearranged cars
Dayton says prearranged van and car services may be scheduled to and from the airport, and points people to the kiosk at the terminal entrance for more. It does not publish a dedicated livery stand, so we do not pretend one exists. Your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim and walks you out to the vehicle, which also keeps that no-waiting rule satisfied.
Two concourses, one building
Concourse A and Concourse B run off the same terminal, so there is no second building to specify and no train to catch between them. Give a reservation coordinator the airline and the flight and the drop takes care of itself.
Pickup, taxi and ground transportation details checked on the airport’s own site, flydayton.com, on September 17, 2026. Terminal rules are the sort of thing an airport changes, so read them again close to your trip.

Departures and arrivals at Dayton
One building, signed zones, and a rule against waiting that decides how this is done.
Departures
Your door to the DAY terminal
- Give us the flightName the carrier and the flight, with the time it is scheduled out. One building with two concourses means there is nothing to get wrong about where the car stops.
- We count backward from the departureThe time at the terminal door comes from what your airline asks of you, then the run east, then a cushion. This is a long leg, so the cushion matters more than it does on a short one.
- Bags at your doorThe chauffeur is out and loading before you reach the trunk, at a house, an office or a hotel entrance.
- Unload and move, as the airport asksDayton allows active loading and unloading in front of the terminal and nothing else. Your chauffeur has the bags out and at the terminal door inside that window, which is the whole point of having one.
Arrivals
Out of the building and into the car
- The flight number goes on the bookingThe flight number and the scheduled arrival go on the booking, and a call comes to dispatch if either moves. Somebody answers the phone at any hour, which a late inbound into Ohio needs.
- Claim your bagsBaggage claim is in the same building as both concourses, so the walk is short and there is nothing to connect to.
- Your chauffeur is waiting at baggage claimDayton signs its rideshare and taxi zones but publishes no dedicated stand for prearranged cars, so there is nothing for you to find. Your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle.
- No circling, because circling is not allowedThe no-waiting rule at the terminal front is the reason a prearranged car beats a friend with a phone here. You wait inside with your chauffeur, and the vehicle pulls in to load, not to sit.
Private jets and charter
Private jet and charter flights at Dayton International
Dayton carries a long aviation history and a working corporate ramp to go with it. Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of the field as well as the terminal, so a private, charter or corporate arrival gets the same vehicle and the same uniformed chauffeur at the FBO door.
- 01
Pickup at the FBO door
General aviation at Dayton runs through the fixed base operator rather than the passenger terminal, so the car waits at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal. None of the terminal-front rules apply on that side of the field, and nobody walks through a building they were never going to use.
- 02
Luggage loaded plane-side
If the operator and the ramp allow it, luggage transfers beside the aircraft and never goes through a building, with nobody carrying a case anywhere. Where they do not, the handover happens at the FBO door with the car standing there already.
- 03
Both halves of the aircraft, one reservation
A crew needs a hotel and the passengers usually need a plant, a base or a boardroom inside the same half hour. Both ride on one reservation, in one vehicle or two, with nobody left waiting.
- 04
One Sprinter for a visiting team
A jet full of executives or a visiting team fits one Sprinter, with room for hard cases and a stand-up aisle. Larger parties move to a coach, and either way the quote covers the vehicle.
Where general aviation runs at DAY
- Wright Bros. Aero, Inc.3700 McCauley Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377On the field at Dayton International, with United States Customs on site and, by its own account, a ramp that takes anything up to a Boeing 747-8i. Staffed around the clock on weekdays and until late on weekends, with after-hours service on request.
We need the tail number, the operator and the scheduled arrival when you book, and a call to dispatch if it moves. The dispatch line is staffed whatever the hour, which counts for more on the general aviation side than anywhere else. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven
Four reasons to be driven to DAY
This is one of the longer runs we take, into an airport with firm opinions about its terminal front. Here is what handing the whole thing to a chauffeur actually changes.
The quote is for the car, not the headcount
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, and a coordinator builds those hours around the interstate traffic this run is known for. Six colleagues on one flight share one figure for the car, with no per-seat fare.
Nobody waits outside a terminal that forbids it
Dayton does not allow parking or sitting in front of the terminal. Your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, and the car pulls in to load and leave, which is exactly what the airport is asking for.
A long leg turns into working time
Far enough east to read the deck, clear the inbox and take the call you were putting off, then arrive without having spent the morning driving.
Uniformed chauffeurs since 2004
Executive Transportation has worked the long Ohio and Indiana routes since 2004. Chauffeurs turn up uniformed and ahead of time, and they name the spot rather than guessing at a signed zone.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.
The fleet
Fleet for this run
Every Dayton transfer is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so the only question is which one your party and its luggage fit into. Give a coordinator both numbers.
Executive Sedan
A passenger or two with cabin bags. The default for a single executive heading east.

Luxury SUV
Five or six people with checked bags, cases or equipment, without anybody holding luggage for four hours.

Sprinter Van
Fourteen seats and standing room while the bags go in. One hourly quote for the vehicle, not a seat each.

Conference blocks, training cohorts and association boards. Shuttle coaches seat 22 to 35, limousine coaches 25 to 30.

Where our Dayton runs start
Executive Transportation drives to Dayton International from across Central Illinois, in both directions, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the Dayton work comes from most, and each one has a page of its own.
Each time below assumes clear roads the whole way to the Dayton terminal. Give dispatch the flight rather than the drive: the pickup is built backward from your departure, and Indianapolis is the one metro approach on the route that can add to it.
Every figure is calibrated, then cross-checked against Travelmath, and the real drive rarely comes in under it. Danville, Effingham and Mattoon-Charleston addresses sit closer than the cities above them here.
The quote follows the vehicle and the hours, not the city it left from.

Airport to airport
Popular transfers between Dayton and other airports
Dayton sits inside easy reach of Columbus and Cincinnati, which makes the fare comparison a live question on almost every trip. When the answer is a different field, we drive the gap in one vehicle.
Each card is the drive between Dayton and the airport named, in either direction. The booking wants the inbound and the outbound with both scheduled times, and a call to dispatch if either airline shifts one.
Clear-road figures. The Cincinnati and Columbus runs are short enough to beat a connection.
Two fields, one vehicle, and nobody repacks the trunk.
What riders say
Three riders, three different runs
Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute.
The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.
Ohio work tends to arrive as a group with a fixed start time: a training cohort, a supplier audit or a base visit. Corporate airport transfers are booked a trip at a time, or a quarter at a time.
Agency staff and visiting delegations book their Dayton runs through our government travel service.
Dayton questions
What people ask before booking a DAY car
The answers below use the airport’s own published guidance, checked on flydayton.com in September 2026, plus the calibrated drive times we quote from.
How far ahead should I book a car service to Dayton?
Executive Transportation prefers 72 hours’ notice for a Dayton transfer, and closer to a week when the party needs a coach. Call anytime: short-notice trips depend on vehicle availability, and a run of this length fills earlier than a short one. Give a coordinator the flight, the pickup address and the headcount.
Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.
Can someone wait for me outside the terminal at Dayton?
Not at the terminal front. Dayton International states there is no parking, or sitting, in front of the terminal and that you must be actively loading or unloading the vehicle. That rule is the single strongest argument for a prearranged car here, because it arrives to collect rather than to wait.
Book the pickup instead at (217) 523-5466.
Where does the chauffeur meet you at Dayton International?
Executive Transportation has your chauffeur waiting inside the Dayton building at the carousel, not out on the terminal front. Dayton signs a rideshare zone at the first crosswalk entrance and puts taxis by the valet booth, but publishes no dedicated stand for prearranged cars, so your chauffeur takes the luggage at the carousel and walks you out to where the vehicle is standing.
See how airport transportation works.
What happens if my flight into Dayton is late?
Executive Transportation would rather hear about a delay from you than discover it at baggage claim. We set the vehicle against the flight number and scheduled arrival on your booking, not against a live board, so a call is what moves the pickup. The dispatch line is answered 24 hours a day, including the small hours.
Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.
How is the price for a Dayton car service set?
Executive Transportation prices a Dayton run as hours on the vehicle and its chauffeur, and the written quote states the minimum before anyone leaves for Ohio. What sets the figure is the hours the run takes, the vehicle class and whether Dayton is one leg or a return. The car is the unit, so a party of six pays once between them.
Request a Quote with your dates.
Which vehicle should a group book for Dayton?
Executive Transportation runs executive sedans for two to three passengers, luxury SUVs for five to six, Sprinter vans for fourteen and coaches for parties up to thirty-five. On a leg this long the luggage decides it before headcount does, so tell a coordinator what is traveling as well as who is.
Compare the full fleet.
Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at Dayton?
Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of Dayton International as well as the passenger terminal. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at the FBO door, load luggage plane-side where the operator allows it, and carry flight crew and passengers on one booking. Fourteen seats cover most charters in a single vehicle.
Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.
Can you drive between Dayton and Columbus or Cincinnati?
Executive Transportation drives Dayton to Columbus and Dayton to Cincinnati as a single booking, with the luggage staying exactly where you put it. Both are short enough that driving the gap can beat rebooking a connection when a fare or a schedule sends you to the other field.

Three things riders tell us made the difference on a Dayton run.
One car, one price, however many ride
Quoted by the hour for the whole car, with the minimum stated up front, so a coordinator plans the hours around the slow stretches. Six travelers share one figure, not six seats.
Nobody waits outside a terminal that forbids it
Your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim and the car pulls in to load, which is exactly what Dayton asks of vehicles at the terminal front.
Dispatch answers day and night
A pre-dawn pickup for an eastbound flight and a late landing on the way home are both routine here, and a dispatcher is awake for either one.
