Chicago Rockford (RFD) Car Service & Chauffeured Transfers
A terminal you can see from the parking lot, and a car waiting at the doors.
Rockford is the Chicago-area airport that behaves like a small one: you are dropped at the terminal doors and you walk straight in. Executive Transportation drives the whole run, meets airline passengers in front of the building, and meets private and charter aircraft at the fixed base operator instead.

Know the airport
What to know about Chicago Rockford
Chicago Rockford International Airport, code RFD, is a single passenger terminal on the far side of the metropolitan area, and the airport says it is served by Allegiant Air, American/Landline and Apple Vacations. The building is small enough that the front door and the gate are almost the same place, which is exactly why people choose it. Private and charter flights use the general aviation side and never enter the terminal at all.
The terminal door is the whole front of the airport
Rockford says passengers can be dropped off directly in front of the terminal doors, where its ambassadors help with bags. There is no upper roadway to choose and no lower level to find. On the way home you do not wait outside at all: your chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle.
One passenger terminal, one small campus
The parking lots sit directly in front of the Main Terminal Building and the International Arrival Terminal, which tells you how compact the place is. The airport also describes a customs experience for international travelers arriving there. If your flight comes in through the international side, say so when you book and the car is waiting on that side instead.
What the airport gives you inside
Free baggage carts, a free parking lot shuttle, ambassadors working outside the terminal and inside, and the Skyview Cafe upstairs, which the airport says opens two hours before domestic departures and three hours before international ones. It is a short building, so plan the pickup around your airline’s check-in advice rather than around the walk.
The general aviation side
Rockford lists a single fixed base operator, Emery Air, which it describes as a full service FBO open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, with an FAA Part 145 maintenance shop and a Beechcraft service center attached. A private arrival is met at that building, not at the terminal doors.
Drop-off, terminal, parking and general aviation details checked on the airport’s own site, flyrfd.com, on September 17, 2026, and the operator address on emeryair.net the same day. Rockford updates these pages, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.

Departures and arrivals at Rockford
One building, one front door, and a chauffeur who is already inside when you land.
Departures
Your door to the Rockford terminal
- Start with the airline and flight numberThe carrier, the flight number and the time it is due to leave. Rockford has one passenger building, so there is no terminal letter to get wrong.
- We work the pickup back from the flightStart with what your airline asks of you, add the run north, then a cushion for weather and the stretch of interstate that carries the trip. Our booking guide explains what else moves a quote.
- Luggage is the chauffeur’s jobHe is out of the car and loading before you reach the trunk, and again at the other end.
- Set down at the terminal doorsDeparting passengers are dropped directly in front of the doors, where the airport’s own ambassadors help with bags. From the car to the check-in counter is a walk of seconds.
Arrivals
The terminal doors back to your door
- Book with the flight numberThe flight number and scheduled arrival set the vehicle. If the flight moves, call dispatch: the phone is answered at any hour, including the middle of the night.
- Collect your bagsBaggage claim is a few steps from the gate in a building this size. International arrivals clear customs at the international side of the campus first.
- Your chauffeur is at the belt, not outsideRockford does not publish a separate livery lane, and you never have to find one. Your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim with your name, lifts the cases off the belt, and walks you out to the vehicle.
- Nothing to call, nothing to flag downThe bags are ours from baggage claim to the trunk. A chauffeur who arrives early is already standing in the terminal, so the walk from the belt to the back seat is one short, unbroken line.
Private jets and charter
Private jet and charter flights at Rockford
Rockford does more general aviation and freight work than its passenger schedule suggests, and the private side runs around the clock. Executive Transportation drives to the FBO as readily as to the terminal, with the same uniformed chauffeur and the same held hour.
- 01
Pickup at the FBO, not the terminal
Private and charter passengers come off the aircraft at the operator’s building, and the chauffeur waits at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal, so nobody walks a concourse they were never going to use. Give us the operator and the tail number when you book.
- 02
Loaded at the aircraft where the ramp allows
Where the operator permits ramp access, we load and unload beside the steps. Where it does not, the handoff happens at the FBO door and the car is already standing there.
- 03
Crew and passengers, one reservation
Flight crews going to a hotel and passengers going to a plant visit can ride one booking. One vehicle or two, arranged by one coordinator, instead of the crew waiting on a second car.
- 04
Room for a delegation and its cases
A Sprinter van takes fourteen with luggage and a stand-up aisle, which suits a corporate group or an inspection team. Larger parties move to a coach, still on one quote for the vehicle.
Where general aviation runs at Rockford
- Emery Air, Inc.One Airport Circle, Rockford, Illinois 61109The only fixed base operator Rockford lists on its own site. Emery says the FBO runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, which is what a charter landing at 4 a.m. needs.
Book with the tail number, the operator and the time the crew gave you, and call dispatch if the flight plan changes. A person picks up that line at four in the morning as readily as at noon. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven
Four reasons to be driven to Rockford
The appeal of Rockford is that the airport itself takes almost nothing out of your day. The drive is the part that does, and that is the part a chauffeur removes.
One number for the whole car
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so a coordinator builds construction season on the interstate into the hours. Four people on one booking share one car.
Skip the lot and the shuttle
Nothing gets parked, nothing gets shuttled, and no vehicle sits at the airport for a week gathering a daily charge while you are away.
Turn the drive into working time
The run to Rockford is long enough to matter. Take the calls in the back seat, or sleep off an early start before the flight.
Chauffeurs, not a rideshare app
Every trip is a uniformed professional chauffeur in a vehicle we own and maintain, dispatched by a company that has been doing airport work since 2004.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.
The fleet
Fleet for this run
Rockford runs are quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so the question is only which one your party and its luggage fit. Give a coordinator the headcount and the bag count and they will answer it.

Where our Rockford runs start
Executive Transportation drives to Chicago Rockford International from across Central Illinois, in either direction, on a single quote for the vehicle. These are the cities the Rockford work starts in most often.
Every figure below is a clear-road drive to the Rockford terminal. Give dispatch the flight rather than the drive: the pickup is built backward from your departure, and winter weather up there is the variable worth an early start.
These clear-road times are calibrated against Travelmath and should be read as the floor rather than the ceiling. We also collect from Galesburg, Pekin, Lincoln and any address in between.
One quote covers the vehicle, wherever the run begins.
Park or be driven
Park at Rockford, or be driven to it
Rockford is one of the cheaper airports in the region to leave a car at, so the parking line is small. The driving is the expensive part, and it is the part nobody itemizes.
- Reserved in advance$8Daily maximum in the paid lot when the space is booked ahead, in front of the terminal building.
- Drive up, or valet$9Daily maximum at the gate on the day. Valet parking at the main terminal doors is posted at $12 a day.
- The driving itself$287.28About 378 miles round trip from Springfield at the IRS business rate of 76 cents a mile, before a space is paid for.
The first two hours in the Main Terminal lot are free, which covers a drop-off but not a trip. See what moves the price of a car service instead.
Get a quote for the whole vehicleParking figures from flyrfd.com, checked September 17, 2026. The 378-mile Rockford round trip is costed at the irs.gov business standard of 76 cents a mile, in force from July 1 to December 31, 2026. Our own transfers are quoted by the hour with a minimum stated up front, so a coordinator gives you the figure for your run.

Airport to airport
Popular transfers between Rockford and other airports
Rockford sits close enough to the other Chicago-area fields that a canceled flight often turns into a drive. We do that leg in one vehicle, with the bags staying where you put them.
Each card is the drive between Rockford and the airport named, in either direction. Both flight numbers and both scheduled times go on the booking, and one call to dispatch resets the car if either of them slides.
Clear-road figures. The Chicago approaches are the variable these numbers do not carry.
One reservation, two airports, one price for the car.
What riders say
Three riders, three different runs
Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute.
The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.
Companies that put crews and project teams through the northern end of the state book these runs on a calendar rather than one at a time, which is what corporate airport transfers are for.
Group charters that start at an airport and end at a plant, a plant tour or a conference are arranged through event transportation.
Rockford questions
What people ask before booking a Rockford car
The answers below use Chicago Rockford International’s own published guidance, read on flyrfd.com in September 2026, and our own calibrated drive times.
Where does the chauffeur meet you at Rockford Airport?
Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside the terminal at baggage claim, which in a building this size is a few steps from the gate. Rockford does not publish a separate livery lane, and you never need one: your chauffeur is waiting at the belt with your name, takes the bags, and walks you out to the vehicle.
See how airport transportation works.
How much does it cost to park at Chicago Rockford International?
Executive Transportation read the airport’s posted figures on September 17, 2026: a daily maximum of $8.00 in the paid lot when the space is booked in advance, $9.00 driving up on the day, and $12 a day for valet at the terminal doors. The first two hours in the Main Terminal lot are free, which covers a drop-off but not a trip.
Call (217) 523-5466 for a quote on the vehicle.
What happens if my flight into Rockford is late?
Executive Transportation needs a phone call from you the moment the airline changes the time. We hold the vehicle against the flight number and scheduled arrival from your booking rather than watching a board, so the phone call is what moves the pickup. Dispatch answers 24 hours a day, weather delays included.
Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.
Do you pick up private jets and charter flights at Rockford?
Executive Transportation drives Rockford’s general aviation side as well as the passenger terminal. The airport lists one fixed base operator, Emery Air, which says it runs around the clock every day of the year. We meet aircraft at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal, load beside the steps where the ramp allows, and carry crew and passengers together.
Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.
Which airlines fly from Chicago Rockford International?
Executive Transportation drives to whichever field your ticket names, and Rockford says it is served by Allegiant Air, American/Landline and Apple Vacations. That is a leisure-heavy schedule rather than a hub operation, which makes the airport a good fit when the fare or the timing beats the bigger Chicago fields.
Compare the airports we drive.
Can you drive from Rockford to O’Hare or Midway?
Executive Transportation runs Rockford to either Chicago field, and back, as a single booking in one vehicle. It is a common trip when a connection collapses or when the outbound and inbound legs use different airports. Send both flight numbers and both times with the booking.
Which vehicle should a group book for Rockford?
Executive Transportation runs executive sedans for two to three passengers, luxury SUVs for five to six, Sprinter vans for fourteen, and coaches for parties as large as thirty-five. Luggage tends to decide it before headcount does, so tell a coordinator how many checked bags are traveling with the group.
Compare the full fleet.
How is a Rockford car service priced?
Executive Transportation prices a Rockford run by the hour for the vehicle and chauffeur together, and the written quote names the minimum hours before you book. The hours the run takes decide the figure, along with the vehicle size and whether the return leg is booked at the same time. One quote covers the whole vehicle, so a group shares one car rather than paying by the seat.
