St. Louis Lambert (STL) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation

Two terminals on two roadways, and a chauffeur standing at the one on your boarding pass.

Lambert splits its airlines between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and getting that wrong is the classic morning here. Executive Transportation works both airline terminals and the general aviation ramp for private and charter flights, on one quote that covers the whole vehicle rather than a seat.

Know the airport

What to know about St. Louis Lambert

St. Louis Lambert International Airport, code STL, runs two passenger buildings, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the airlines are split between them rather than sharing one hall. Which building your flight leaves from is the single most useful thing you can tell a reservation coordinator. Private and charter flights skip both and work off the general aviation ramp instead.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 carry different airlines

Lambert lists Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, Southern Airways Express and United at Terminal 1, and British Airways, Frontier Airlines, Lufthansa and Southwest at Terminal 2. They are two separate buildings with their own roadways, their own garages and their own door numbering. Arriving at the wrong one on a tight morning is the classic Lambert mistake, and it is entirely avoidable: the terminal is printed on your boarding pass.

The airport publishes zones for taxis and ride apps

Lambert puts the Terminal 1 taxi zone at Door 14, on the yellow level of the garage, and the Terminal 2 taxi zone across from Door 12 inside the T2 garage. Ride app pickups sit at Door 6 on the Terminal 1 departure level and at Door 12 on the Terminal 2 arrivals level. Those are useful landmarks, but they are not where a pre-arranged car works.

Where a pre-arranged car actually stops

The airport lists car service and limousine companies on the same ground transportation page without publishing a pickup point for them, so we do not print one we cannot stand behind. Your chauffeur uses the designated commercial vehicle pickup area for your terminal and confirms the exact door with you before you walk out of baggage claim. Lambert also keeps free cell phone lots on Lambert International Boulevard and Air Cargo Road, which is where a vehicle waits rather than circling.

Give us the terminal, and the flight number with it

Airlines shuffle between the two buildings at Lambert, and a codeshare can land you somewhere the ticket name does not suggest. A coordinator needs the terminal on the boarding pass, the flight number and the scheduled time. If the airline moves you after you book, call dispatch and the drop moves with you.

Terminal, airline and ground transportation details checked on the airport’s own site, flystl.com, on September 17, 2026, along with the Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Lot D parking pages. Lambert revises these pages, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.

Departures

Your door to the Lambert terminal door

  1. Send the flight and the terminalAirline, flight number, scheduled departure and Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Four facts and the vehicle is held for you.
  2. We work the pickup back from the departureThe terminal time starts with what your airline asks of you, adds the run down I-55, and leaves a cushion for the Mississippi River crossings and the morning traffic buildup into St. Louis County.
  3. Bags go in at your addressThe chauffeur is out and loading before you have the trunk open, whether that address is a Springfield driveway or a Decatur office park.
  4. Dropped at the building on the passA Southwest departure goes to Terminal 2 and an American departure goes to Terminal 1, and the two are not interchangeable. Tell us which one when you book and that is where the car stops.

Arrivals

Baggage claim back to your address

  1. Give us the flight number when you bookThe flight number and the scheduled landing time are what set the vehicle. Call dispatch if either changes, day or night.
  2. Collect your bags in your own terminalBaggage claim sits in the building you landed at, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, and the two have separate claim halls.
  3. Met inside at baggage claimYour chauffeur is waiting at baggage claim with your name, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the vehicle at the commercial pickup area for your terminal. Lambert publishes zones for taxis and ride apps but not for pre-arranged cars, so nobody asks you to find a door on your own.
  4. Straight home, at midnight if that is the flightThe last banks into Lambert land late, and the drive north afterwards is the part nobody enjoys. That leg is ordinary work for us, and it is booked at the same time as the ride out.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at Lambert

Lambert is a working general aviation field as well as an airline hub, and the two sides barely touch. Executive Transportation drives both, so an aircraft on the ramp gets the same uniformed chauffeur, the same vehicle and the same hour as a Tuesday morning departure out of Terminal 1.

  • 01

The car waits at the FBO, not the terminal

Private and charter passengers at Lambert come and go through the fixed base operator, well away from the airline buildings. Your chauffeur meets you at that entrance, which means no garage levels, no door numbers and no walk through a terminal you were never booked into.

  • 02

Bags beside the aircraft where the ramp allows

Signature lists ramp side vehicle access among its St. Louis ground services, so where the operator clears it the luggage goes straight from the hold to the trunk. Where it does not, the handover happens at the FBO door with the vehicle already standing there.

  • 03

    Flight crew and passengers together

A flight crew heading for a hotel and passengers heading downtown are usually on the same clock. We carry both on a single reservation, in one vehicle or two, so nobody stands on the ramp waiting for a car to come back around.

  • 04

    Fourteen seats for a delegation

Fourteen seats, a stand-up aisle and room for hard cases take a full aircraft in one go. Larger parties step up to a coach. Either way the quote covers the vehicle rather than counting heads.

  • Signature Flight Support5995 James S. McDonnell Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63134Signature lists the St. Louis facility as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with ramp side vehicle access among its ground services. That is the door your chauffeur pulls up to.

Send the tail number, the operator name and the scheduled arrival with the booking, and one call resets it if the slot changes. Somebody is on the dispatch line whatever the hour. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to Lambert

The drive to Lambert is short enough that people talk themselves into it, and long enough that it eats a working day in both directions. Here is what handing it over actually buys.

One figure, whoever is in the car

Lambert runs are quoted by the hour for the vehicle and chauffeur, minimum stated up front, so the hours already allow for the Poplar Street Bridge. Five colleagues on the same flight split one figure.

No lot, no shuttle, no eight-day parking bill

The chauffeur loads at your door and stops at the terminal your pass names. Nothing to find in Lot D at eleven at night, and no meter running while you are in Denver.

The back seat is the productive part

Most of our riders treat the run down as billable. Take the call, read the brief, or sleep before a 6 a.m. departure. Somebody else owns the road.

Chauffeurs who run this road weekly

Executive Transportation has been driving Central Illinois to St. Louis since 2004. Chauffeurs arrive uniformed and early, and they know both Lambert roadways without a map.

The fleet

Fleet for this run

Every Lambert transfer is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, so the only real question is which one your party and its luggage fit into. A coordinator needs the headcount and the number of checked bags.

None of these turn up without a uniformed chauffeur in the front seat. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 when the party wants to arrive at the terminal together.

Cities we connect to STL

Where our Lambert runs start

Executive Transportation drives to St. Louis Lambert from across Central Illinois, in both directions, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the Lambert work comes from most, and each one has its own page.

Every figure below is a clear-road drive to the Lambert terminals. Hand dispatch the flight rather than the drive: we build the pickup backward from your departure, and the approaches into St. Louis County run longer in the weekday peaks.

The quote covers the vehicle, not the seats inside it.

Park or be driven

Park at Lambert, or be driven to it

Lambert is cheap to park at by big airport standards, which is exactly why Central Illinois travelers underestimate the trip. The lot is rarely the expensive part. The road is.

  • Cheapest 24 hours$11Flat in Lot D, with airport shuttles running around the clock and arriving every 8 to 15 minutes.
  • At the terminal$33Twelve to twenty-four hours in the Terminal 2 garage. Terminal 1 is $31 for the same band.
  • The drive itself$162.64A Springfield round trip of 214 miles at the IRS business rate of 76 cents a mile, before a dollar of parking.

Four days in Lot D plus that mileage runs past $200, and the parking line keeps ticking while you are away. Read the full cost breakdown.

Lot D and both terminal garages from flystl.com, checked September 17, 2026, on the schedule the airport marks effective July 1, 2026, tax included. The round trip to Lambert is costed at the irs.gov business rate of 76 cents a mile in force from July 1 to December 31, 2026. Our own vehicles are quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so take the figure from a coordinator instead of estimating it.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between Lambert and other airports

Itineraries split across fields more often than anyone plans for. When the next flight leaves from somewhere other than Lambert, Executive Transportation drives the gap in one vehicle with the bags untouched.

Each card is the drive between Lambert and the airport named, in either direction. Give us both flight numbers and both scheduled times at booking, and call dispatch if either one moves.

One reservation covers both fields, and the car is quoted once.

Lambert questions

What people ask before booking a car to Lambert

The answers below use St. Louis Lambert’s own published guidance, checked on flystl.com in September 2026, and our own calibrated drive times from Central Illinois.

How long does it take to drive from Springfield, Illinois, to St. Louis Lambert?

Executive Transportation figures about 107 miles and about 1 hour 40 minutes on clear roads, almost all of it I-55 south. Decatur runs about 2 hours 20 minutes, Quincy about 2 hours 10, and Bloomington-Normal about 2 hours 45. Treat all of those as the floor and give dispatch your flight instead of a drive time.

See the Springfield to St. Louis airport route.

Where will my chauffeur be waiting at Lambert?

Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside, at baggage claim in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, with your name. Your chauffeur takes the luggage and walks you out to the vehicle at the commercial pickup area for your terminal. Lambert publishes zones for taxis and ride apps but not for pre-arranged cars, so we do not print a door the airport has not published.

See how airport transportation works.

Which terminal do I need at St. Louis Lambert?

Executive Transportation asks for the terminal on your boarding pass, because Lambert splits its airlines between two separate buildings. Terminal 1 carries American, Delta, United, Alaska, Air Canada and Southern Airways Express. Terminal 2 carries Southwest, Frontier, British Airways and Lufthansa. Getting that one detail right saves the whole morning.

Call (217) 523-5466 if the airline moves you after booking.

What happens if my flight into Lambert is late?

Executive Transportation would rather hear from you the minute the airline announces it. We hold the vehicle against the flight number and scheduled arrival you gave us at booking rather than watching the schedule ourselves, so a call is what moves the pickup. Somebody answers the phone at two in the morning.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

Is a car service to Lambert cheaper than parking and driving?

Executive Transportation quotes the vehicle by the hour rather than the seat, so the comparison depends on your party. A Springfield round trip is about 214 miles, roughly $163 at the IRS business rate of 76 cents, before Lambert parking at $11 a day in Lot D or $31 a day in the Terminal 1 garage. Four riders change the answer quickly.

Read the STL parking cost breakdown.

Which vehicle should a group book for St. Louis Lambert?

Executive Transportation runs executive sedans for two to three passengers, luxury SUVs for five to six, Sprinter vans for fourteen, and coaches for parties up to thirty-five. Luggage usually decides it before the headcount does, so tell a coordinator how many checked bags are traveling as well as how many people.

Compare the full fleet.

Can you meet a private jet or a charter flight at Lambert?

Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of Lambert as well as the airline terminals. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at the FBO entrance instead of the airline terminal, load beside the aircraft where the operator allows it, and carry flight crew and passengers on one booking. A Sprinter takes a whole delegation.

Send the tail number and the operator when you book the chauffeur.

Can you drive from Lambert to another St. Louis airport?

Executive Transportation covers the short hops around the region as single bookings, with the luggage staying where you put it. St. Louis Downtown and Spirit of St. Louis are both under half an hour from Lambert, and MidAmerica sits across the river in Illinois. Put both flight numbers on the one booking.
