STL airport parking is cheap by big airport standards, and that is exactly why Central Illinois travelers underestimate the trip. Lambert charges $11 to $33 for 24 hours. Getting your car to that lot from Springfield costs about 214 miles and the better part of a working day.
The short version
Lambert parking, the drive, and the gap between them
- Cheapest lot
- Lot D at $11 for 24 hours, with shuttles every 8 to 15 minutes to both terminals.
- Closest parking
- The Terminal 1 garage at $31 for 24 hours and the Terminal 2 garage at $33.
- The round trip
- About 214 miles from Springfield, which is roughly $163 at the IRS business mileage rate.
- The hidden line
- Driving home on I-55 after a delayed evening flight, with nobody to spell you.
Every rate below came off Lambert’s own parking pages on September 15, 2026, and reflects the schedule the airport marks as effective July 1, 2026. The airport states that tax is included. Rates move, so check flystl.com before you leave. We start with the road rather than the rate sheet, because that is where the money goes.
Start with the road, not the rate sheet
Lambert is the closest major hub to most of Central Illinois, which is both the appeal and the trap. Close enough to drive means people drive without pricing it first.
| From | Miles one way | Drive time one way | Round trip miles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Springfield | 107 | about 1 hour 40 minutes | 214 |
| Quincy | 130 | about 2 hours 10 minutes | 260 |
| Decatur | 133 | about 2 hours 20 minutes | 266 |
| Bloomington-Normal | 175 | about 2 hours 45 minutes | 350 |
| Champaign-Urbana | 180 | about 2 hours 45 minutes | 360 |
| Peoria | 182 | about 2 hours 45 minutes | 364 |
Those times assume an ordinary day. Construction on I-55 and the run through north St. Louis County add to them, and winter adds more. Treat every figure as a planning number. Decatur travelers can start from our Decatur car service page, where the southbound run begins 133 miles from Lambert.
STL airport parking rates, lot by lot
Lambert splits parking across two terminal garages and five surface lots. The garages are walking distance to the doors. The lots cost less and run shuttles around the clock.
| Where | What it is | 12 to 24 hours |
|---|---|---|
| Lot D | One daily price, surface lot, shuttle to the terminals. | $11 |
| Lot C, uncovered | Tiered rates, $7 for the first six hours. | $12 |
| Lot B | One daily price, surface lot, shuttle to the terminals. | $14 |
| Lot C, covered | Covered spaces, $8 for the first six hours. | $15 |
| Lot A | Connects to Terminal 1 through a pedestrian tunnel.$11 for up to six hours. | $20 |
| Lot E | East of Terminal 2. Reservation only since July 1, 2026.Plus a separate $10 reservation fee. | $27 |
| Terminal 1 garage | Attached to Terminal 1. $5 for the first two hours. | $31 |
| Terminal 2 garage | Attached to Terminal 2. $5 for the first two hours. | $33 |
How STL long-term parking compounds
Nothing at Lambert is billed by the week, so the daily number is the whole story. Multiply it and the spread between cheap lot and convenient garage widens fast.
| Nights away | Lot D | Lot C, covered | Terminal 1 garage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 days | $22 | $30 | $62 |
| 4 days | $44 | $60 | $124 |
| 7 days | $77 | $105 | $217 |
St. Louis airport parking cost plus mileage, in one table
The receipt from the exit gate is one line of a longer bill. The other is the car. Many employers reimburse business driving at the IRS standard mileage rate, 76 cents a mile for July through December of 2026. That rate covers fuel, tires, depreciation, and the rest of what a mile costs.
| Line | How it is figured | Lot D | Terminal 1 garage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mileage | 214 miles at 76 cents | $162.64 | $162.64 |
| Parking | 4 days at the posted daily rate | $44.00 | $124.00 |
| Total | Before anything you buy on the way | $206.64 | $286.64 |
Run that arithmetic from Peoria or Champaign and mileage alone clears $270. The cheap lot stops mattering; it is a rounding error against the car.
At Lambert the parking is not what costs you. The 214 miles and the night drive home are.
What the comparison leaves out
Two numbers in a spreadsheet make driving look sensible. Neither covers the parts travelers complain about afterward.
- The drive home after a delay. A 9 p.m. arrival that slips to 11 p.m. puts you on I-55 near midnight and in your driveway past 1 a.m.
- The shuttle at both ends. Cheap lots mean two shuttle rides with luggage, in whatever weather St. Louis has that week.
- Three hours and twenty minutes you cannot reuse. For anyone who bills by the hour, that is the largest figure on this page.
- Your car sitting outside. Ten days of July sun or February ice is its own small cost.
- Everyone else in the car. Mileage does not shrink when four people travel together. One vehicle and one quote cover all four.
The same exercise for Chicago runs wider still: O’Hare parking cost vs. a car service.

Be driven to Lambert
- Pickup at your home, office, or hotel across Central Illinois.

- A uniformed chauffeur takes the night drive home.
When parking at Lambert is genuinely the right call
We will not pretend the answer is always a car service. Park at Lambert when most of this fits:
- You are traveling alone. One person in Lot D for two nights spends $22. Nothing beats that on price.
- The trip is short. One or two nights keeps the daily rate from compounding.
- Both flights are civilized. A mid-morning departure and an afternoon return mean no midnight driving.
- The drive is yours anyway. If you are not billing the hours and you like the road, that is a fair trade.
- Plans are loose. Standby or a schedule that might move twice favors having your own car in the lot.
Flip any two and the math turns. Four people, a week away, a 6 a.m. departure, and a delayed return is where airport transportation becomes the cheaper answer.
How a ride from Central Illinois to Lambert is arranged
- Tell us the flight. Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote with your pickup address, departure time, and passenger count.
- Choose the vehicle. An executive sedan carries two to three, a luxury SUV five to six, and a Sprinter van up to 14.
- Ride to the door. Your chauffeur collects you at home or at the office and pulls up at departures, Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
- Set the return. Give us the flight number and scheduled landing time, and the ride home is set before you leave.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice and about a week for larger groups, though the phone is answered around the clock. Short-notice trips come down to what is available. Teams flying out together often route the booking through corporate airport transfers. Full details sit on our St. Louis Lambert page and the Springfield to St. Louis airport route.

Lambert parking and car service questions
Which STL airport parking lot is cheapest for a week away?
Executive Transportation checked Lambert’s posted rates on September 15, 2026. Lot D is the cheapest at $11 for 24 hours, or $77 across a week. Uncovered Lot C runs $12 a day and Lot B runs $14. The Terminal 1 garage costs $217 for that same week. Airport rates change, so confirm on flystl.com before you travel. Or skip the lot entirely: request a quote.
Do I have to reserve Lot E at St. Louis Lambert?
Executive Transportation notes that Lambert’s Lot E became a reservation only lot on July 1, 2026. The posted price is $27 a day plus a separate $10 reservation fee, handled through Super Park. Lots A through D and both terminal garages still take drive up parking. If reserving a parking space sounds like one more errand, a chauffeur can drop you at the terminal door. See our Lambert car service page.
How long is the drive from Springfield, Illinois, to St. Louis Lambert?
Executive Transportation runs this trip constantly: about 107 miles and about 1 hour 40 minutes each way, almost all of it I-55 south. Weather and St. Louis traffic can stretch it, so leave margin for a morning departure. Decatur sits about 2 hours 20 minutes out, Quincy about 2 hours 10 minutes, and Peoria about 2 hours 45 minutes. See the Springfield to St. Louis airport route.
Is a car service to Lambert worth it for two people from Decatur?
Executive Transportation quotes the vehicle rather than the seat, so two travelers from Decatur share one price. Driving instead means about 266 miles round trip, roughly $202 in mileage at the IRS business rate of 76 cents, before you pay for a single day of parking. You also hand back close to five hours of road time. Call (217) 523-5466 to compare the two.
What changes the price of a car to St. Louis Lambert from Central Illinois?
Executive Transportation prices a Lambert trip on four things: the distance from your pickup address, the vehicle you need, how many people are riding, and the day and hour you travel. An executive sedan seats two to three and a luxury SUV seats five to six, so group size moves the number. Early departures and holiday weekends fill first. Request a Quote with your flight details.
Can someone pick me up at Lambert after a late flight into St. Louis?
Executive Transportation meets arriving travelers at St. Louis Lambert and drives them home to Springfield, Decatur, Jacksonville, Quincy, and the rest of Central Illinois. Book the return leg at the same time you book the ride out, and pass along your flight number and scheduled landing time. Call (217) 523-5466 or see airport transportation.
