Advance Team for Transportation Security: Executive, Government and High-Profile Movements
The route has already been driven. The door has already been agreed. The principal just walks.
Executive Transportation runs an advance team ahead of a CEO visit, a legislative day or a dignitary’s arrival: routes driven and timed beforehand, doors confirmed with the venue, vehicles staged out of sight. Send the schedule and your security contact and one written figure comes back for the whole movement.

What is included
What the advance team does before and during a movement
An advance team is the part of a movement that happens before the principal gets into a vehicle, and alongside it once they do: transportation work, knowing the road, the door and the timing before the day rather than on it.
Before the day: the routes and the doors
Each leg is driven and timed in advance, an alternate chosen wherever the first route could close, and the pickup and drop points walked. Doors are confirmed with the venue, hotel or FBO, and the schedule checked against your security staff’s plan.
On the day: a vehicle ahead of the principal’s
An advance chauffeur or coordinator runs ahead of the principal’s vehicle, confirms the door and the staging before it arrives, and relays a changed room or a late finish between the vehicles and your team. The vehicles stand where the principal steps straight in.
Discretion, and one point of contact
Your security director or chief of staff deals with one coordinator from the first call to the last drop. No passenger list leaves the desk, and a chauffeur is given a door and an hour rather than a reason.
Every movement is quoted in writing beforehand and receipted afterwards. Ask a reservation coordinator about invoicing and receipts for your company. The chauffeured service underneath all of this is described on executive chauffeur.
How a movement goes
Before the day, and the day itself
One half is finished before anybody is collected; the other is keeping it true as the schedule moves.
Before
The advance work
- Send the schedule and the names of your contactsAddresses, hours, headcount, who is riding and who on your side runs the movement, in whatever form you keep it.
- Each route is driven and timedThe legs are driven at the hour they will run, an alternate chosen wherever one could close, and the pickup and drop points walked.
- Doors and staging are agreed in advanceWhich entrance, which lane, where the vehicle stands between legs: confirmed with the venue, hotel or FBO and written onto the booking.
- One figure comes back for the whole movementThe advance chauffeur, the principal’s vehicle and any follow vehicle are quoted by the hour on one sheet, with the minimum stated first.
The day
The movement itself
- The advance chauffeur is at the door firstAhead of the principal’s vehicle at every stop, confirming the entrance is the agreed one and the lane is clear.
- The vehicles are staged, not parked in viewHeld a short distance off until the principal is ready, then brought to the door. Nobody stands outside waiting.
- Changes are relayed, not discoveredA room swap, a late finish or a stop added at lunch passes between the vehicles and your team through the coordinator.
- Arrivals by air are met insideAt baggage claim on an airline flight, at the FBO door on a private one, the luggage handled and the principal walked out to a vehicle already positioned.
Who books this
Who books an advance team
The call comes from whoever answers if the principal is left standing outside: the office with the calendar, the staff running the movement, or the host expecting them.

Why be driven
How the advance team is quoted
No rate is published here, because no two movements take the same hours. The vehicles and the advance work are quoted by the hour against the schedule you send, with the minimum stated up front.
By the hour, with the minimum stated first
Each vehicle and its chauffeur are quoted at an hourly rate, and the advance work the same way. The minimum is written into the quote before anything is confirmed.
One figure for the whole movement
The advance chauffeur, the principal’s vehicle and any follow vehicle appear on one sheet, so a security director signs off on a single number.
What moves a figure
The hours the movement runs, how many vehicles it takes, the class of each, and how much of the route has to be driven beforehand.
Receipts, before and after
A written quote before the movement and a receipt after it, which is what has to be filed.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.
The fleet
Which vehicles the advance team moves
The principal’s vehicle is chosen on headcount and how the arrival should look. The advance vehicle is a sedan or an SUV, whichever is quieter at that door.
Executive Sedan
The principal and one aide, and the usual advance vehicle, because a sedan on a side street draws no attention.
View vehicle
Luxury SUV
The principal with staff and cases, or a follow vehicle carrying whoever has to arrive at the same minute.
View vehicle
Sprinter Van
A traveling staff of up to fourteen, moved as one vehicle behind the principal’s rather than four cars to keep in line.

Groups of 22 to 35
A board, a press party or a visiting faculty moved together. Shuttle coaches seat 22 to 35 and limousine coaches 25 to 30.
Limousine CoachShuttle CoachAn arrival that should look like one takes the stretch limousine, eight to ten passengers. Each one comes with a uniformed chauffeur.

Cities where an advance team is booked
A movement is as likely to be a plant visit in Peoria or a campus guest in Champaign as a day in the capital. Each line names the address an advance chauffeur walks first.
Every city page carries its own pickup points, and the whole list lives on the service area hub.
The capital itself is covered on the home page. A movement that leaves the region altogether is quoted as long distance car service.
Send a schedule in any of them and the advance work is quoted the same way.

What riders say
What riders say afterwards
Executive Transportation was easy to work with and very reliable. Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Our driver was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely hire them again.
The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Executive Transportation was incredibly responsive and was able to secure us a bus quickly.
An advance movement is the same uniformed chauffeur as any other booking, with the road and the door checked first: corporate transportation.
A principal on a scheduled flight goes through corporate airport transfers, and a session day with no known finish through government travel.
Advance team questions
What security directors and chiefs of staff ask first
Written for whoever is responsible when a movement goes badly. Nothing here names anybody who has been moved.
What does a transportation advance team do?
An advance team does the transportation work around a movement. Before the day each route is driven and timed, alternates are chosen and doors are confirmed with the venue, hotel or FBO. On the day an advance chauffeur runs ahead of the principal’s vehicle and relays changes to your staff.
Call (217) 523-5466 or send the schedule.
Is the advance team a security service?
No. Executive Transportation is a chauffeured transportation company, and the advance team is a transportation function: routes, doors, timing and staging. It does not supply protective staff and makes no claim about screening or clearances. Where your organization has its own security staff, the advance chauffeur works to their plan.
Ask a coordinator at (217) 523-5466.
Can you coordinate with our own security staff and the venue?
Yes, and that is the normal shape of the work. Your security director names a contact, the venue names one, and a single coordinator holds both numbers from the first call to the last drop. Routes, entrances and staging are agreed with each of them before the day.
Call (217) 523-5466.
How far ahead should an advance team be booked?
A week wherever the calendar allows it, because the routes have to be driven and the doors confirmed before the day rather than on it. Shorter notice is asked about rather than refused: dispatch is staffed overnight, and it comes down to which vehicles and chauffeurs are unbooked.
Dispatch answers at (217) 523-5466.
How is the advance team priced?
By the hour. Each vehicle and its chauffeur are quoted at an hourly rate with a minimum stated up front, and the advance work is quoted the same way. The reply is one written figure for the whole movement, covering the advance vehicle, the principal’s vehicle and any follow vehicle.
Request a Quote with the schedule.
How is a principal collected from the airport?
On an airline flight the chauffeur waits at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks the principal out to a vehicle already positioned. On a private flight the vehicle is at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal. Send the flight or tail number and call if it moves.
Which vehicles suit a principal with a staff of five?
A luxury SUV carries five or six, so the principal and staff travel together, with a sedan ahead as the advance vehicle. Where the arrival should look like one, the stretch limousine carries eight to ten, and a staff of a dozen takes a Sprinter van.
How is discretion handled on an advance movement?
The passenger list stays with the desk that sent it, and the chauffeurs are given a door and an hour rather than a reason. No photograph is taken, nothing said in a vehicle goes further than the vehicle, and the vehicles are staged out of sight.
Ask anything specific at (217) 523-5466.

Nothing on the day is new
The route was driven, the door agreed and the timing measured before the principal left the building.
One contact on each side
Your security staff talk to one coordinator, and the vehicles hear everything through the same person.
Nobody waits in the open
The vehicle is staged a short distance off and brought to the door when the principal is ready, not before.
