Kansas City International (MCI) Car Service & Chauffeured Transportation

One terminal, two roadways, and a chauffeur waiting inside at baggage claim.

Kansas City rebuilt its airport around one terminal, and the roadway rules came with it: departures use one level, arrivals another. Executive Transportation sends a uniformed chauffeur to your door, meets airline arrivals at baggage claim and private jets at the FBO door, and handles the bags.

Know the airport

What to know about Kansas City International

Kansas City International Airport, code MCI, works from one passenger terminal. It opened in February 2023 with 40 gates and retired the three round buildings that had served the field since 1972, so almost every direction written before that year is now wrong. Private and charter flights never touch the passenger building at all.

One terminal, and none of the old ones

The Kansas City Aviation Department says the new terminal opened for travelers in February 2023 with 40 gates and 6,200 garage parking spaces, replacing the three separate terminals that had opened in 1972. Everything an arriving passenger needs sits in that one building now, which is why old advice about picking the right circle building can be ignored.

Departures ride the upper level. Arrivals come out on the lower one

The airport is plain about it: drop off is on the upper level at the departures entrance, pick up is on the lower level where arrivals come out. It is equally plain about waiting. Federal security directives prohibit parked or unattended vehicles on the roadways in front of the terminal, even for a short time, which is why nobody is asked to stand outside with bags: your chauffeur is inside at baggage claim, and you walk out to the vehicle together.

The commercial vehicle roadway, one crosswalk out

Step out of the arrivals level and there is a second roadway between the terminal and the garage, which the airport reserves for commercial vehicles and which is reached by crosswalk. Its own exhibit marks that outer lane for limos, liveries and pre-arranged shuttles at posts 3J through 3N, with taxis at 3B and 3C and public transit at 3A. App-based rides work the inner roadway at the purple signposts 2K to 2N. Your chauffeur walks you to the right post rather than leaving you to guess.

The waiting happens off the roadway

A car that arrives before you do waits in the free cell phone lot at 50 Bern Street, where the posted maximum is 45 minutes and unattended vehicles are towed under city ordinance. That is the honest reason a chauffeur asks for your airline and your bag count: claimed bags decide when the vehicle leaves the lot for the terminal.

Terminal, roadway and commercial vehicle details checked on the Kansas City Aviation Department’s own site, flykc.com, and on its published commercial vehicle exhibit, on September 17, 2026. Parking rates were checked the same day. Kansas City keeps updating these pages as the new terminal settles in, so check anything time sensitive close to your travel date.

Departures

Your door to the MCI departures entrance

  1. Send the flight, not the address aloneWhich airline, which flight number, and the scheduled time out. One terminal means we do not have to guess the building, but the airline still decides which end of the entrance is closest to your counter.
  2. The pickup time is built backwardWe start from what your airline asks of you at Kansas City, add the run, then add a cushion for the morning bank of departures. A coordinator tells you the time rather than leaving you to estimate it.
  3. Bags handled at your doorThe chauffeur is out of the car first, and the luggage is in before you have finished saying goodbye to whoever is staying home.
  4. Upper level, at your airlineDepartures at MCI are dropped on the upper level roadway. The car stops, the bags come out, and nobody circles a lot or waits on a bus.

Arrivals

The MCI carousel back to your door

  1. Give dispatch the flight numberSend the flight number and the scheduled arrival when you book, and call if it moves. Somebody answers the phone at three in the morning, which is when this matters.
  2. Your chauffeur is downstairs at the beltThe carousels are downstairs on the arrivals level, and that is where your chauffeur is waiting, with your name. The bags come off the belt and into our hands, and nobody stands outside with luggage waiting for a car.
  3. Cross to the outer roadway togetherYour chauffeur leads the way out of the arrivals level and across the crosswalk to the second roadway, where limos, liveries and pre-arranged shuttles are marked at posts 3J through 3N. The luggage travels with us, not with you.
  4. Private and charter arrivals skip all of itIf you are coming off a private or corporate aircraft, the car is at the fixed base operator instead, on the general aviation side of the field. No terminal, no crosswalk, no posts.

Dispatch moves the pickup, not a screen. The vehicle is set from the flight number and scheduled time you give us at booking, so a phone call is what changes it. (217) 523-5466 reaches a dispatcher at any hour of the day or night.

Private jets and charter

Private jet and charter flights at Kansas City International

Kansas City handles a serious amount of corporate flying, and none of it comes through the passenger terminal. Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of MCI the same way it drives the terminal: one uniformed chauffeur, one vehicle, one quote, there when the door opens.

  • 01

    Pickup at the FBO door

Charter and private passengers are met at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal, so none of the roadway posts or crosswalks apply to you. The car is already outside the jet terminal when the aircraft shuts down.

  • 02

    Luggage loaded plane-side

Ramp rules permitting, bags go straight from the aircraft to the trunk instead of through a building. Where they do not, the handover is at the FBO entrance, with the car already standing outside it.

  • 03

Crew and passengers on the same booking

A flight crew heading to a hotel and passengers heading to a meeting can ride one booking in one or two vehicles, instead of the crew waiting for a car to come back around the field.

  • 04

    A Sprinter for the delegation

Fourteen seats, a stand-up aisle and room for hard cases take a full aircraft in one vehicle. Larger parties move up to a coach, and the quote still covers the vehicle rather than the seat.

Why be driven

Four reasons to be driven to MCI

A rebuilt airport still leaves the traveler with a lot to manage. Handing the whole ground half of the trip to somebody else is what a chauffeur actually buys.

One quote covers the car and everyone in it

The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, so a coordinator plans for the construction on the approach instead of hoping it clears. Five people flying out together ride on one figure rather than buying five seats.

No lot, no bus, no crosswalk with bags

Your chauffeur loads at your door and stops at the airline you are flying. Nobody rides a parking bus or drags a roller bag across a roadway at either end.

Long runs are worth more in the back seat

This is a trip most riders would otherwise spend driving. Take the calls, read the deck, or sleep before an early departure and let somebody else hold the wheel.

Chauffeurs who know the roadway rules

Executive Transportation has been driving airport runs since 2004. A chauffeur who knows exactly which lane and which post the airport allows is the difference between a pickup and a citation.

The fleet

Which vehicle fits the party

Kansas City transfers are quoted by the hour, for the whole vehicle, so the only question is what your party and its luggage fit into. Tell a coordinator both numbers and they will tell you the rest.

A uniformed chauffeur comes with every one of them. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 when a party wants to arrive together and make an occasion of it.

Cities we connect to MCI

Where our Kansas City runs start

Executive Transportation drives to Kansas City International in both directions on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the MCI work comes from, and each one has a page of its own.

Both figures below are clear-road drives to the terminal. Give a coordinator the flight rather than the drive: the pickup is built backward from your departure, and a westbound morning run wants a cushion.

Calibrated clear-road figures. Treat them as the floor rather than the promise. We also collect from Jacksonville, Taylorville, Lincoln, Decatur and any address in between.

One quote covers the vehicle, wherever the run starts.

Park or be driven

Park at MCI, or be driven to it

Parking is the first number most travelers check and rarely the one that decides anything. Here is what the airport itself charges to leave a car behind.

  • Cheapest official lot$9Per 24-hour period in Economy, then the free blue bus from the lot shelter to the terminal door.
  • Terminal garage$30Daily maximum in the garage attached to the terminal, where the walk in is shortest.
  • Valet at the door$40Daily maximum for the airport’s own valet, the closest a private car gets to being met.

Add a week of it to the fuel and the return trip and the comparison starts looking different. How an hourly quote is built.

Airport to airport

Popular transfers between MCI and other airports

Plans change and so do airports. When the onward flight leaves from a different field, Executive Transportation drives the gap in one vehicle, with the luggage staying exactly where you packed it.

Each card is the drive between Kansas City International and the airport named, in either direction. Give us both flight numbers and both scheduled times when you book.

One booking, two airports, and the luggage never moves twice.

What riders say

What riders actually tell us

Parris Smith · Rider review

Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.

Jen DeJong · Rider review

Companies with people moving through Kansas City on a schedule arrange their runs through corporate airport transfers, one trip or one travel calendar at a time.

Conference groups and association boards flying into MCI together usually start with event transportation instead.

MCI questions

What people ask before booking an MCI car

The answers below use the Kansas City Aviation Department’s own published guidance for MCI, checked on flykc.com in September 2026, plus our own calibrated drive figures.

Where does the chauffeur meet you at Kansas City International?

Executive Transportation meets arriving passengers inside at baggage claim on the arrivals level, takes the luggage, and walks you across to the outer roadway between the terminal and the garage. The airport marks that lane for limos, liveries and pre-arranged shuttles at posts 3J through 3N, reached by crosswalk, and your chauffeur knows the post.

See how airport transportation works.

How far ahead should I book a car service to MCI?

Executive Transportation prefers 72 hours’ notice for a Kansas City transfer, and closer to a week when the party needs a coach. Call anytime: short-notice trips depend on what is free, and the early departures book first. The flight, the headcount and the bag count are enough to hold a vehicle.

Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.

What happens if my flight into Kansas City is late?

Executive Transportation wants a phone call the moment the airline tells you. The vehicle is set from the flight number and scheduled arrival given at booking rather than from a screen we watch, so nothing moves until somebody says so. Dispatch is answered day and night, including the small hours.

Call (217) 523-5466 to move a booked pickup.

Does Kansas City International still have three terminals?

No. Kansas City opened one new passenger terminal in February 2023 with 40 gates, retiring the three circular buildings that had served the airport since 1972. Directions written before that date no longer apply, which is the single most common source of confusion for travelers who have not flown through MCI recently.

Ask a coordinator when you request a quote.

How is the price for an MCI car service set?

Executive Transportation quotes a Kansas City run as hours for the vehicle and chauffeur, and the written quote names the minimum before you commit to anything. The hours the drive to MCI takes door to door, the vehicle class and whether it is one leg or a return decide the figure. One quote covers the whole vehicle, never a seat.

Request a Quote with your dates.

Which vehicle should a group book for Kansas City?

Executive Transportation puts two or three passengers in an executive sedan, five or six in a luxury SUV, fourteen in a Sprinter van and anything up to thirty-five on a coach. Luggage settles it before headcount does, so give a coordinator the number of checked bags as well.

Compare the full fleet.

Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at MCI?

Executive Transportation drives the general aviation side of Kansas City International as well as the passenger terminal. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at the fixed base operator, load luggage plane-side where the operator allows it, and carry crew and passengers on one booking. A Sprinter moves a full delegation.

Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

Can you drive between Kansas City and St. Louis Lambert?

Executive Transportation drives Kansas City to Lambert and back as a single booking, which is what a misconnection or a same-day meeting in both cities actually needs. The bags stay where you put them and nobody rebooks anything. Give us both flight numbers and both scheduled times when you book.

See the St. Louis Lambert page.

Book the ride

Request your MCI ride

Three things riders say made the difference on a Kansas City run.

  • Quoted by the hour, for the whole vehicle

The written quote names the hourly figure and the minimum before you ride, and a coordinator builds the hours around the traffic the interstate is known for. Everybody in the party travels on that one figure.

  • Door to terminal, with the bags handled

The chauffeur loads at your door and stops at the airline you are flying. No lot, no parking bus, no crosswalk with luggage.

  • Dispatch answers day and night

The first bank of departures and the last inbound of the night are most of this work, and the phone is answered at either end of it.
