Chesterfield, Missouri · Private jet and charter pickups
Spirit of St. Louis (SUS) Car Service for Private & Charter Flights
Three FBOs, a customs office and no airline line anywhere on the field.
Spirit of St. Louis is the business aviation field west of the city, and a passenger arriving here walks out of an FBO lobby rather than a terminal. Executive Transportation meets private jet, charter and corporate flights at whichever operator you use, and drives on to the office, the plant or the hotel without a terminal anywhere in the way.

Know the airport
What to know about Spirit of St. Louis Airport
Spirit of St. Louis Airport, code SUS, sits at Chesterfield on the western side of the metro and calls itself the Business Aviation Center of the Midwest, a description it has earned over more than sixty years. There is no airline terminal. Three fixed base operators handle the passengers, and a Customs and Border Protection office handles the ones arriving from abroad.
Three fixed base operators, and you need to know which one
The airport names Aero Charter Jet Center on Turbine Avenue, Million Air on Bell Avenue and Signature Flight Support on Edison Avenue. They are separate buildings on separate parts of the field, so the single most useful thing a charter passenger can tell a reservation coordinator is which operator the aircraft is parking at. Across them the airport lists high-speed Jet A and 100LL fueling, heated hangar storage and on-site concierge service.
A port of entry, with advance notice
SUS is an official port of entry, and the airport says it provides inspection services for general aviation so private and corporate aircraft can clear on arrival from abroad. Advance notice is required, and the Customs and Border Protection office sits on Edison Avenue. For a ground crew that matters because clearance time, not landing time, decides when you actually walk out.
Two parallel runways and a tower with fixed hours
The airport lists runway 8R-26L at 7,485 by 150 feet of grooved concrete and the parallel 8L-26R at 5,000 by 75 feet of asphalt, on a field 463 feet above sea level. The control tower works 0600 to 2300 local on 124.75, with ground on 121.7, so anything outside that window is a quieter arrival than most passengers expect.
Give us the operator, the tail number and the time
Four facts hold a vehicle here: the FBO, the tail number, the scheduled arrival and how many people and cases are coming off. If the flight slides, or the aircraft is repositioned to another operator on the field, one call to dispatch moves the car with it.
Runway, tower, customs and fixed base operator details checked on the airport’s own site, spiritairport.com, on September 17, 2026. The airport revises these pages, so confirm anything time sensitive before you fly.
SUS ground transportation
Car to the ramp, and wheels down to the car
With three operators on one field, the whole job is being at the right building at the right minute.
Departures
Your address to the operator’s lobby
- Name the FBO when you bookAero Charter, Million Air or Signature. Plus the tail number and the time the crew wants you on the ramp.
- The pickup is worked back from the crew’s timeNobody holds a private departure for a late car, so the margin on this run is the road itself. We count back from wheels up, down through Litchfield and around the western arc of the metro.
- Bags taken once, at your doorThe chauffeur lifts the luggage where you leave from, and the next person to touch it is whoever loads the aircraft.
- Dropped at the right buildingThree operators means three entrances, and turning up at the wrong one costs ten minutes you did not budget. Tell us the FBO and the car stops at that door.
Arrivals
Off the ramp and out to the car
- Send the scheduled arrivalTail number, operator, FBO and the time the crew expects to be down. Call dispatch if any of it moves, at whatever hour.
- Add clearance time if you are arriving from abroadSUS is a port of entry and the airport requires advance notice for a general aviation inspection. Tell us you are clearing customs and the pickup is timed against that rather than the landing.
- The chauffeur waits before you landNo baggage hall means no spare twenty minutes. The vehicle is at the FBO ahead of the aircraft, every time.
- Into the city, or north up I-55Downtown St. Louis and the Chesterfield and Clayton offices are a short run. Springfield and Central Illinois are about two hours, and the same car covers either.
Private jets and charter
Private jet and charter flights at Spirit of St. Louis
Everything on this field is private, charter or corporate, so this is not a side service on the page. It is the page. Executive Transportation has been meeting aircraft on ramps across Illinois and Missouri since 2004.
- 01
Pickup at the operator you actually use
Three FBOs on one field is the only complication SUS has, and it is solved by telling us which one. The chauffeur is at that lobby, not the one across the taxiway, and you are in the car within minutes of the stairs.
- 02
Plane-side loading where the ramp allows
Where the operator clears vehicle access, luggage goes from the hold straight into the trunk. Where it does not, the handover happens in the lobby and the schedule is unaffected.
- 03
Crew and passengers on one reservation
Flight crews need a hotel and passengers need an office, usually within the same fifteen minutes. Both go on a single booking, in one vehicle or two, so nobody is left on the ramp.
- 04
Sprinters and coaches for a full cabin
Fourteen seats and a stand-up aisle handle most charters in one vehicle. Anything larger, or two aircraft arriving together, moves to a coach, and the quote still covers the vehicle.

Give us the tail number, the operator, the FBO and the scheduled arrival when you book, and call dispatch if any of it moves. A person picks that line up at any hour, including the ones nobody plans for. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.
Executive Transportation is a ground transportation company. We drive to the aircraft, we do not charter it.

Why be driven
Four reasons the car is booked before the aircraft lands
A trip through SUS is bought to save time. The ground half is where that saving is usually given back, and it does not have to be.
Quoted by the hour, for the vehicle, not the head
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum stated up front, and that one figure covers everyone off a midsize cabin. A coordinator builds the hours around the loop on I-270.
Standing at the right FBO
Three operators on one field is the classic SUS mistake. Tell a coordinator which one and the car is outside that lobby, not the one a mile away.
The northbound leg is usable time
Chesterfield to Springfield is about two hours. That is a debrief, a deck, or the sleep that the outbound flight cost you.
Chauffeurs used to ramps
Uniformed and early, and comfortable around operators, crews and customs timings rather than terminal roadways. That is most of what we do at this field.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.
The fleet

What comes off the aircraft decides the vehicle: how many people, and how much of it is hard cases. Every option here is quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, never by the seat.

Groups of 15 to 35
Two aircraft landing together, or a delegation meeting a charter. Shuttle coaches seat 22 to 35.
Shuttle CoachLimousine CoachWhichever it is, a uniformed chauffeur is standing with it outside the FBO. A stretch limousine seats 8 to 10 when the party wants to arrive together and look like it.

Where our Spirit of St. Louis runs start
Executive Transportation drives to and from the Chesterfield ramps across Central Illinois, on one quote for the whole vehicle. These are the cities the SUS work comes from most, and each has its own page.
The figures below are clear-road drives to Chesterfield. Give dispatch the tail number, the FBO and the scheduled time rather than a drive time: the pickup is built backward from the aircraft.
Calibrated clear-road drives, and a floor rather than a promise. We also collect from Jacksonville, Carlinville, Litchfield, Alton and Edwardsville, and from any address between them.
The quote covers the vehicle, whoever steps off the aircraft.

Airport to airport
Popular transfers between SUS and other airports
Arriving privately and leaving commercially, or the other way around, puts two different fields on one itinerary. Executive Transportation drives the gap in a single vehicle.
Each card is the drive between the Chesterfield ramps and the airport named, in either direction. Give us the tail number, the onward flight number and both scheduled times.
Clear-road figures. The interstate loop around St. Louis is the variable they do not carry.
It goes on a single reservation, quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle.
What riders say
Three riders on three different runs
Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute.
Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.
The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Corporate flight departments and executive assistants arrange the ground half of a Chesterfield trip through our executive chauffeur service.
Companies moving a whole team off one aircraft use corporate airport transfers, booked a trip or a quarter at a time.
Spirit of St. Louis questions
What people ask before booking a car to SUS
The answers below use Spirit of St. Louis Airport’s own published information, checked on spiritairport.com in September 2026, and our own calibrated drive times.
Which FBO should I give you at Spirit of St. Louis Airport?
Executive Transportation needs whichever one your operator is parking at. The airport names three: Aero Charter Jet Center on Turbine Avenue, Million Air on Bell Avenue and Signature Flight Support on Edison Avenue. They are separate buildings, so naming the right one is what puts the car outside the correct door.
Call (217) 523-5466 and a coordinator will take it from there.
Does Spirit of St. Louis Airport have airline flights?
Spirit of St. Louis is a business and general aviation field with no scheduled airline service, no checkpoint and no baggage hall. It has been the business aviation center of this region for more than sixty years. For an airline seat, Lambert is about twenty-five minutes east across the metro.
See the Lambert airport page for scheduled flights.
How far is Spirit of St. Louis Airport from Springfield, Illinois?
Executive Transportation figures about 124 miles and about two hours on clear roads, down I-55 and around the western side of the metro. Quincy is about two hours as well, Decatur about 2 hours 35 minutes, and Peoria about 3 hours 5. Treat those as the floor rather than a promise.
Request a Quote with your dates.
Do you pick up from private jets and charter flights at Spirit of St. Louis?
Executive Transportation does very little else at this field. We meet private, charter and corporate aircraft at whichever FBO lobby you name, load beside the aircraft where the operator allows it, and carry flight crew and passengers on one booking. A Sprinter takes a full cabin in a single vehicle.
Book through executive chauffeur service.
Can you meet an international arrival clearing customs at SUS?
Spirit of St. Louis is an official port of entry and provides inspection services for general aviation, with advance notice required. Tell Executive Transportation you are clearing on arrival and the pickup is timed against clearance rather than the landing, so the car is not sitting outside while you are inside.
Call (217) 523-5466 and say you are arriving from abroad.
What are the runways and tower hours at Spirit of St. Louis?
The airport lists two parallel runways: 8R-26L at 7,485 by 150 feet of grooved concrete, and 8L-26R at 5,000 by 75 feet of asphalt, on a field 463 feet above sea level. The control tower operates 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. local on 124.75, with ground control on 121.7.
Send the arrival time when you request a quote.
Which vehicle should a charter party book at SUS?
Executive Transportation runs executive sedans for two to three passengers, luxury SUVs for five to six, Sprinter vans for fourteen, and coaches for parties up to thirty-five. Hard cases usually settle it before headcount does, so tell a coordinator what is coming out of the hold as well as who is on board.
Compare the full fleet.
Can you drive from Spirit of St. Louis to Lambert or MidAmerica?
Executive Transportation treats the region’s fields as one network and books the hop as a single job. Lambert is about 24 miles across the metro, St. Louis Downtown sits over in Cahokia, and MidAmerica is further east in Illinois. Give us the tail number and the onward flight number together.
