What it is for

What the limousine coach is for

Four bookings keep this coach out, and every one of them values the same thing: a party of thirty that is still holding one conversation when it walks through the door.

A delegation arriving as one body

Thirty people who have to be introduced, briefed or photographed together lose the thread the moment they split across cars. On a coach the briefing happens on the way and nobody misses it.

A wedding block between two places

Guests collected from one hotel and returned to it, so the couple is not fielding ride requests from thirty people on the morning of their own wedding.

A leadership group on a working day

A board or a senior team traveling between sites keeps working on the way, which is the argument for one coach over a string of separate cars arriving at different minutes.

A club, a team or a tour

A group that already knows each other and wants the journey to feel like part of the day rather than the line before it.

Inside the coach, and the people who run it

Compare the fleet

Where a party of thirty sits in the fleet

At this size the question stops being whether everybody fits and becomes what the group is meant to do with the journey. Two vehicles cover thirty people and they answer that differently.

Where a date is contested, two vehicles on one schedule is an ordinary answer rather than a compromise. A coordinator will price it either way on (217) 523-5466.

Say what the group is doing on the journey and the vehicle answers itself.

How it is priced

What a limousine coach costs, and what actually sets the figure

A coach and its chauffeur are quoted by the hour rather than by the distance, which is why no rate is printed here. Three things set the hours, and a written quote names each.

The hours the coach is committed for

Every coach booking is hourly, because the vehicle stands at a venue between movements instead of leaving and coming back. The clock starts when the group is collected, and the minimum number of hours is stated in writing before anything is agreed.

The date, and how many coaches the region has spare

Conference weeks, graduation weekends and wedding season all reserve coaches months out. This is a supply question long before it is a pricing one, and a date that is already busy is the single most useful thing to tell a coordinator early.

The shape of the day, and who is directing it

One movement between two addresses is a short block of hours. A day with a hotel, two venues, a gap and a return is a long one, because the coach belongs to the group for every hour in between, and the quote is built from all of them.

The arithmetic behind a group figure is set out on the charter bus cost guide, and the single vehicle version is on the car service cost guide.

Popular runs

The long runs a coach is chartered for

When a group of thirty leaves the region it usually leaves on one of six pairings. Each card opens the route page, where the distance and the clear road drive time are written out.

A coach loads and unloads more slowly than a car does, so an organizer is given a boarding time rather than a departure time, and it is earlier than the one a single traveler gets.

The return movement is written on the same charter as the outbound one.

What riders say

Organizers who moved a group this size

Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute. Executive Transportation was incredibly responsive and was able to secure us a bus quickly. Our driver Andrew arrived on time and got us safely to and from our event.

Meghan ForesmanRider review

Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.

Jen DeJong · Rider review

The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.

Parris Smith · Rider review

A movement that repeats on a timetable rather than happening once is a shuttle services conversation, because a loop is written as a schedule instead of as a stack of separate charters.

An event where guests arrive across a whole day belongs with event transportation, which plans the vehicles around the arrivals rather than around one departure time.

Limousine coach questions

What organizers ask before chartering a limousine coach

Written for whoever is responsible for the headcount. Pickup points are on each city page.

How many passengers fit on a limousine coach?

A limousine coach from Executive Transportation carries 25 to 30 passengers in a leather cabin with a uniformed chauffeur driving it. Thirty is a full coach. Above that the booking becomes a shuttle coach, or two vehicles running to one schedule, which is an ordinary arrangement.

Compare every class on the fleet page.

What is the difference between a limousine coach and a shuttle coach?

The headcount it is built around and what happens to the luggage. The limousine coach carries 25 to 30 in a leather cabin and suits a delegation or a wedding block traveling as one party. The shuttle coach takes up to thirty-five and puts their bags in a bay under the floor.

See the shuttle coach.

Can I charter a coach without a driver?

No. Every vehicle Executive Transportation reserves comes with a uniformed chauffeur, and a coach of this size legally requires a licensed operator in any case. The chauffeur stays with the group for the whole charter rather than dropping it and returning later.

Ask a coordinator at (217) 523-5466 how a charter day runs.

Is there a minimum booking for a coach?

Yes. The coach and the chauffeur are quoted by the hour, and a minimum number of hours applies because the coach is held for your group while it waits between movements. The minimum is stated up front and in writing, and a single movement in one direction is quoted the same way, on the hours it takes.

See how held hours work.

How much does a limousine coach cost?

Executive Transportation quotes the coach instead of publishing a rate. The coach and the chauffeur are quoted by the hour with a minimum stated up front, and the hours follow the date, the boarding time and the addresses in between. One figure covers the whole vehicle.

Read how a group figure is built.

How far ahead should a coach be booked?

We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability. About a week is better for a group of this size, and conference weeks, graduation weekends and wedding season fill months out, because a region holds a finite number of coaches and everybody wants them on the same dates.

Send the date and we will say what is free.

Can you move more than thirty people?

Yes, and it is routine. Above thirty the answer is usually the shuttle coach, or two vehicles running to one written schedule so the whole party still arrives together. A coordinator will price both shapes rather than pushing you toward the larger one.

Reserve the vehicle

Reserve the limousine coach

Three things organizers say after the first coach charter.

  • Nobody had to be found afterwards

Thirty people who travel together are counted once, at the door, instead of being rounded up from four parking areas while a venue waits to start.

  • The journey did some of the work

A briefing, an introduction or simply a conversation happens on the way, so the group arrives having already begun rather than needing twenty minutes to settle.

  • One figure, one invoice

The coach is quoted once, by the hour, for the vehicle and the chauffeur, so a finance office receives a single line rather than thirty reimbursements.
