Champaign-Urbana to Indianapolis Airport Car Service
Straight east on I-74, with the clock change handled for you.
Interstate 74 carries this run from end to end, which makes it the most predictable long airport trip anybody in Champaign or Urbana takes. The hour you actually leave is the part worth getting right, because the departure on your boarding pass is printed in Eastern time.

The run at a glance
Champaign-Urbana to Indianapolis, end to end
Champaign-Urbana to Indianapolis International is 131 miles and about 2 hr 5 min on clear roads, east on Interstate 74 the whole way. No metro approach stands between the two ends, so the miles behave. What moves the plan is the state line, not the traffic.

- The clock at IND1 hr aheadMarion County keeps Eastern time, daylight saving included
One interstate, no approach to survive
I-74 leaves Champaign County and arrives at the airport interchange without asking anything of you in between. That is why the calibrated figure holds up so well: the variables here are weather and construction rather than a rush hour.
The state line moves your alarm, not your drive
Eastern time governs Marion County, and daylight saving applies there as well, so the offset never shrinks. A 9 a.m. departure in Indianapolis is an 8 a.m. event on a kitchen clock in Urbana, and every hour of the plan shifts with it. Reservations here are written against the airport clock and confirmed that way.
What the quote covers
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, with the minimum number of hours stated up front, and one figure covers the whole vehicle. A coordinator builds the hours from the flight and the weather and construction this run is known for, so nothing is settled in the car.
Drive figures are the calibrated Central Illinois table this site publishes everywhere. Terminal, roadway and ground transportation details are the Indianapolis Airport Authority’s own, from ind.com, checked September 17, 2026, along with the lot prices. The carrier deadlines and the Indiana time zone rule were both read on September 15, 2026. Airlines, airports and states rewrite these pages, so check anything time sensitive before you fly.

Upstairs on the way out, the garage floor on the way in.
Outbound
Champaign or Urbana to the Indianapolis terminal door
- Send the flight in Indiana timeSend the carrier, the flight number and the scheduled departure exactly as the boarding pass shows them, in Eastern. Those three lines set the pickup hour.
- Pickup happens wherever you startRuns start at houses on both sides of campus, the University of Illinois, Research Park on Hazelwood Drive, Carle Foundation Hospital and the State Farm Center.
- Bags in at the doorCases go in the back while the porch light is still on. After that, two hours of I-74 asking nothing of you.
- Set down on the departures level, or walked inYou are dropped at the terminal door on the departures level, or a chauffeur escorts you inside to the Ticketing Hall. With a single passenger building there is no terminal number to get wrong.
Return
Indianapolis back to your door
- Put the homeward leg on the same reservationBook the ride home alongside the ride out. It hangs on the inbound flight number and the scheduled landing, so a phone call is what moves it.
- Bags on the arrivals levelClaim is one level down from ticketing, at the front of the single building you landed in.
- Met inside at baggage claimYour chauffeur meets you inside at baggage claim, takes the luggage and walks you out to the Ground Transportation Center, on the first floor of the garage you reach as you exit the terminal, where personal luxury limousine services load.
- West on I-74, and an hour backThe same 131 miles in reverse, except the clock now runs your way: an evening landing gets you home an hour earlier than the itinerary reads.
Ways to make this trip
Champaign to Indianapolis: the car, the rails, or your own odometer
One of the three usual answers is missing here, and it is worth saying so. Amtrak serves Champaign-Urbana well, but the line runs north to Chicago and south to Carbondale rather than east, so rail does not reach Indianapolis. That leaves being driven or driving yourself, and the departure hour usually decides it.
Rail details below are Amtrak’s, checked September 15, 2026, and the lot prices are the airport’s, checked two days later. Both change without notice. The one figure absent here is ours, since the vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour, in writing, for your dates.
Three days on your own wheels: the federal business rate of 76 cents turns 262 return miles into $199.12, the Economy Lot takes $27.00 more, and $226.12 is the figure before anybody values a pre-dawn start. More detail in the Indianapolis cost and timing guide and every way out of Champaign-Urbana.
The 131 miles do not change with the method. Only who spends them does.
Private jets and charter
Private jet arrivals at both ends of this run
Plenty of the traffic between Champaign County and Indianapolis never touches an airline counter, and both ends of the run have their own general aviation door.
- 01
Flightstar at Willard
Charters out of Champaign County board on the general aviation apron at Savoy, which puts the car at the FBO entrance and not at a terminal nobody intends to enter.
- 02
Signature at the Indiana end
Indianapolis keeps general aviation away from the Weir Cook Terminal entirely, so no garage floor enters into it. Aircraft and vehicle arrive at the same door.
- 03
Crew and passengers, one reservation
Charter arrivals split at the ramp: the crew wants a hotel, the passengers want a meeting that has already started. One reservation covers both of those runs.

A Sprinter takes the delegation
Hard cases and a full cabin still leave a usable aisle in a Sprinter van. Above fourteen riders the party steps up to a coach.
The FBO at each end of this run
- Flightstar7 Airport Road, Savoy, Illinois 61874The full-service fixed base operator Willard names on its own general aviation page, with fuel, maintenance and its own guest and ramp services. Flightstar also lists United States Customs support, which matters if your aircraft is arriving from outside the country.
- Signature Aviation6390 Turner Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241Signature says the Indianapolis facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which is what a charter landing at 3 a.m. needs from the car as well as the ramp.
Charter bookings need three things: the operator, the tail number and the slot, all in the time zone the ramp uses. If one of the three changes, phone dispatch. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Other runs
Other runs on this corridor
Indianapolis is the nearest large airport to Champaign County, and not the only one a booking points at. Each card is a page of its own.
Each of these books exactly like the one above: the address, the flight, the headcount, and a single number for the vehicle.
Every figure above comes off the one calibrated table, and both eastbound cards carry the same hour of time change. The full set of fields within reach sits on the Champaign-Urbana page.
Out and back go on the same reservation, whichever pair of ends they have.
What riders say

The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.
Conference delegations, grant reviewers and residency candidates share the same stretch of I-74, and corporate airport transfers put a whole party in one vehicle.

Questions about this run
What riders ask before booking Champaign to Indianapolis
The answers use the calibrated figures above, the Indianapolis Airport Authority’s own guidance, and Indiana’s published time zone rule.
How long is the Champaign-Urbana to Indianapolis airport drive?
Executive Transportation schedules Champaign-Urbana to Indianapolis International at 131 miles and about 2 hr 5 min on clear roads, east on Interstate 74 the whole way. No metro approach stands in between, so the figure holds up well and you add only for weather.
Call (217) 523-5466 or request a quote.
Is Indianapolis airport in a different time zone than Champaign?
Yes, and it is the first thing we settle. Marion County, Indiana, keeps Eastern time and observes daylight saving, so the airport sits an hour ahead of Champaign-Urbana all year. A flight boarding at 9 a.m. in Indianapolis boards at 8 a.m. at home.
See the Indianapolis car service page.
When should I be picked up for a 9 a.m. flight out of Indianapolis?
Executive Transportation counts back from the departure, not forward from your morning. One carrier asks for two hours at the terminal on a domestic flight and closes checked bags 45 minutes out. A 9 a.m. Eastern departure therefore wants you at the terminal door at 6 a.m. Central, and the pickup lands near 3:25 a.m.
How is the price set on a Champaign to Indianapolis car service?
Executive Transportation quotes the vehicle and chauffeur by the hour, with the minimum number of hours stated up front in the written quote. The hours this run takes decide the figure, along with vehicle size and whether the homeward leg travels on the same reservation. One quote covers the whole vehicle, so six colleagues ride on one figure.
Request a Quote with your dates.
Which door does the chauffeur use at Indianapolis?
Different ones each way. Outbound, you are dropped at the terminal door on the departures level or escorted inside to the Ticketing Hall. Inbound, your chauffeur meets you at baggage claim, takes the luggage, and walks you out to the Ground Transportation Center on the garage first floor.
See how airport transportation works.
Can I take the train from Champaign to Indianapolis instead?
Not on this corridor, and we would rather say so. Amtrak calls the local station Illinois Terminal and runs six trains a day, but the Illini and the Saluki work the Chicago to Carbondale line. Nothing on the timetable heads east into Indiana.
Rail to Chicago is compared in Champaign to Chicago.
Do you work the private jet and charter side of this corridor?
Both ends of it. Flightstar handles general aviation at Willard, and the Indiana end runs through Signature Aviation on Turner Drive, nowhere near the Weir Cook Terminal. Your chauffeur waits at whichever FBO entrance applies, and a mixed itinerary works the same way.
Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.

Three things eastbound riders tell us made the difference.
Quoted by the hour, in writing
The vehicle and chauffeur are quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so the weather I-74 is known for is planned into the hours before you ride, never settled in the car.
The time zone is somebody else’s problem
Every pickup is written against the Indianapolis clock and confirmed that way, which removes the mistake this run punishes hardest.
Somebody answers before dawn
Eastbound departures start early by definition, and dispatch is staffed for that hour and for the night you land.
