Airport to Airport Transfers & Connecting Car Service
When the next flight is at a different airport, the road is the connection.
An airport to airport transfer is a private car booked between two fields: one party, one vehicle, straight from baggage claim at the first to the departures entrance at the second. Broken connections, diversions and charter passengers joining an airline all ride it.

What it is
What an airport to airport transfer is, and when people book one
Four situations account for nearly all of this work, and all four have the same shape: a seat exists at another airport, and the only way to reach it is the road.
A connection that broke, or a flight that diverted
The rebooked seat is often at the other field. Weather does the same thing, putting an aircraft down somewhere nobody planned for.
A charter joining an airline, and a crew changing fields
A private flight lands at a general aviation building and the onward ticket is at a terminal. Crews swap aircraft and bases the same way, on a schedule set by somebody else.
One vehicle, one party, and no stop in between
The car carries your group and nobody else, straight between the two fields. There is no shared van and no route that collects strangers.
The exact door and terminal at each field belong to that airport, and every airport page names the ones it verified with the date it checked them. Airports revise those details, so confirm anything time sensitive before you travel.
How a transfer between fields goes
Out of the first airport, into the second
Two terminals and one vehicle. The doors change with the field, the method does not.
Out
Leaving the airport you landed at
- Send both flight numbersThe inbound you are on and the outbound you are trying to reach, with the new departure time.
- Your chauffeur is at baggage claimWaiting inside with your name, on the lower level almost everywhere.
- The bags are ours from the beltYour chauffeur takes the luggage and walks you out to the vehicle.
- Name the deadline at the far endTell a coordinator the check-in cutoff you have to beat.
In
Arriving at the airport you are flying out of
- Name the airline, and the terminal followsLambert splits its carriers across two buildings on separate roadways. Name yours on the booking.
- Set down on the departures levelLarge airports drop departures upstairs, so the car stops at the concourse your ticket names.
- Bags out at the doorCases come off at the terminal door rather than a lot, which is most of the time a transfer saves.
- The return is the same bookingComing back the other way later in the week costs one reservation, not two.
Who books this
Who needs a car between two airports
Almost nobody plans one of these. They are booked in the hour after something changed, which is why dispatch is staffed at three in the morning.

The car stands at the general aviation door
General aviation sits on its own road with its own lobby. The chauffeur waits at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal.

Luggage plane side when the operator allows it
Some operators let a vehicle onto the ramp, so luggage moves from the hold to the trunk without a terminal in between.

A charter usually splits at the aircraft. One reservation can carry the crew to a hotel and the party to a terminal.

Why be driven
How an airport to airport transfer is quoted
One figure for the whole vehicle, quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, in writing before the car moves. There is no meter and no published rate.
By the hour, with the minimum up front
The hours between the two fields decide the figure, and the minimum is in the written quote before the trip starts.
One quote, the whole vehicle
A party of six shares one quote. Nobody buys a seat, which is why this beats six separate options.
What sets the hours
The drive between the fields, the traffic it is known for, the size of the vehicle and the hour of the pickup.
Booking one at short notice
Dispatch never closes. What is free on the night decides how fast a car reaches you.
We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Which vehicle between two airports
Luggage decides this more often than headcount, because a transfer between fields carries everything the party checked.

One or two travelers with a seat to catch. The quiet option, and the quickest to move.

The fields at either end of a transfer
Eight airports appear at one end or the other of nearly every transfer we drive. Each card opens that airport’s own page.
Every other field with a page of its own is on the airports hub, including the private flight fields around St. Louis and Chicago.
Each note is that airport’s own published detail, dated on its page. A transfer that starts at an address rather than a gate is ordinary airport transportation.
Any two of these fields is a booking. So is one of them and a field that is not listed.

Pairs with a page
The pairs and the runs that feed them
Two airport pairs have a route page of their own, and four city runs put travelers into the same connections. Every figure is the calibrated one, checked against the route page.
Read each drive time as a floor. Open interstate holds its average, and the approach at either end is what moves.
Only two airport pairs have pages of their own. Any other pair is still a booking: the airport roster is the list, and the quote is built from the hours between the two fields.
The pair you need does not have to be on this page.
What riders say
Riders on the airport runs
The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.
Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.
Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute.
Travel managers who book these against an itinerary rather than an emergency use corporate airport transfers.
Agency staff and delegations ride the same vehicles through government travel.
Airport to airport questions
What travelers ask when a connection moves to another airport
These hold at every field. The terminal and the door at each one are on that airport’s own page.
What is an airport to airport transfer?
An airport to airport transfer is a private car booked between two airports rather than between an address and a terminal. Executive Transportation carries one party per vehicle, baggage claim to departures entrance, with both flight numbers on the reservation and one quote for the whole car.
Send both flights or call (217) 523-5466.
How much does an airport to airport transfer cost?
Executive Transportation quotes each transfer by the hour for the whole vehicle, with the minimum stated up front, rather than posting a rate. The hours between the two fields, the size of the vehicle and the headcount set the figure, and a party of six shares one quote instead of buying six of anything.
Call dispatch at (217) 523-5466 for a figure.
Which airport pairs do you drive?
Any two fields on the roster. Two pairs have route pages of their own: O’Hare to Midway is about 25 miles and about 40 minutes, and St. Louis Lambert to O’Hare is about 306 miles and about four and three quarter hours on Interstate 55.
See them on the routes hub.
My connection just broke. How quickly can you send a car?
Dispatch answers around the clock, so somebody picks up at three in the morning. How fast a car reaches you depends on what is free at that hour, which is an honest answer rather than a promise. Call as soon as the airline tells you, not after you collect the bags.
Call (217) 523-5466 the moment you know.
Where does the chauffeur meet me at the arriving airport?
Inside, at baggage claim, with your name. Your chauffeur takes the luggage and walks you out to the vehicle, so nobody waits outside. At Indianapolis that walk ends at the Ground Transportation Center on the garage first floor; at the regional fields it is a few steps.
Each airport page names its own doors.
Do you drive private jet passengers to an airline terminal?
Yes, and it is a common booking. A charter arrives at a general aviation building on a separate road, and the onward ticket is at a concourse that may be at another airport entirely. One reservation covers the crew and the passengers even when they are going to different places.
Send the tail number when you book the chauffeur.
Is this a shared shuttle between the airports?
No. One party rides per vehicle and nobody else is collected along the way, which is the difference between a transfer and a scheduled van. It is also why the pickup can be set for whatever hour your rebooked flight needs rather than a published timetable.
Request a Quote for your own vehicle.
Can a flight crew book a transfer between fields?
Yes. Crew moves between aircraft and bases are ordinary bookings, and they tend to happen at hours nothing else runs. Give a coordinator the two fields, the report time and the headcount, and the reservation is held against that time rather than a flight number.
Dispatch is at (217) 523-5466 at any hour.
