Long Distance Car Service & Chauffeured City to City Runs

One chauffeur, one vehicle, and a door at each end instead of a gate at each end.

A long run is a chauffeured trip measured in hours: your address to an address in another city, quoted by the hour before it starts. The same reservation covers the way home.

What a long run is

What a long distance car service run with Executive Transportation is

Everything about a long run follows from one decision: the vehicle and the chauffeur are yours for the trip, not for a slot.

One chauffeur and one vehicle, end to end

The same professional who loads the first case sets down the last one. No relay, no change of car at a county line, no second company for the far half.

Door to door, and the doors are yours to choose

A run starts and finishes at the addresses you name: a house, an office, a hotel lobby, a terminal door. Extra stops go on the reservation, and a run over three hours gets a rest stop.

Quoted by the hour, with the minimum up front

Long runs are quoted by the hour for the whole vehicle, with the hours built from the road the run is known for, so a winter crawl is planned for rather than metered.

The miles and the drive times on this page are the calibrated figures the route pages publish, and each of those pages shows the road behind the number. Read every drive time as a floor: open interstate holds its average, and a metro approach is the part that moves.

How a long run goes

From the quote to the arrival

Two halves: the part on the phone before the date, and the part on the road.

The quote and the confirmation

  3. Confirm, and the run is scheduledA named vehicle and chauffeur are held for your date, not pooled on the morning.
  4. Stops go on the reservationA second pickup, a lunch stop, a site visit. Written down, not negotiated at the roadside.

Private jets and charter

Private jet arrivals with a long drive at one end

A charter solves the long half of a journey and leaves the last hundred miles on the ground.

  • 01

The vehicle stands at the FBO you are flying into

General aviation is a separate building on a separate road. The chauffeur waits at the FBO door rather than the airline terminal.

  • 02

Cases plane side where the ramp allows it

Some operators let a vehicle onto the ramp, and luggage moves from the hold to the load space.

  • 03

The drive that finishes the journey

A jet into a regional field, then two hours of road to the plant, is a common request.

  • 04

Crew one way, passengers the other

A charter often splits at the aircraft. One reservation carries crew and passengers to two addresses.

A charter booking needs the tail number and the ground address at the far end. We prefer 72 hours’ notice, but call anytime. Short-notice trips depend on availability.

Executive Transportation drives the ground half of the journey. We do not charter the aircraft.

Why be driven

How a long distance run is quoted, and how it compares

No rate is published on this site and there is no meter in the car. A long run is quoted by the hour for the vehicle and the chauffeur, with the minimum stated up front.

By the hour, with the minimum up front

The hours the run takes decide the figure, and a coordinator plans for the weather and the road the route is known for.

One quote buys the vehicle

Five people split one figure rather than buying five of anything. That is why a group ends up ahead on a long run.

What sets the hours

The distance, the vehicle size, the hour you set out, whether the car waits, and any stop written into the route.

Against a train or a flight

One traveler with a flexible weekday and a downtown address is often better off on rail, and we say so. A fixed early start or a party of four is where the car wins.

The fleet

Which vehicle for a long run

Hours in a seat decide this as much as headcount does. Ask for the next size up if the party sits at the top of a capacity.

Where we serve it

Cities long runs start and finish in

Eight cities account for most of the long distance work, and each has a page listing its own pickup points. The big figure on each card is the interstate that carries that city’s long runs.

The far end is wherever the trip goes. Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis lead, and customers also book Nashville, Kansas City and Milwaukee.

Whichever city the run starts in, the booking works the same way.

These six are the longest pairings on the site, and each has a page with the miles, the interstates and the hour.

What riders say

Riders on the long runs

Our group of 7 needed a ride from Chicago O’Hare to Springfield. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Our driver was friendly and accommodating.

Executive Transportation saved the day after another bus company fell through last minute.

Meghan Foresman · Rider review

The scheduling process was seamless, and the timely pickup from Bloomington airport made my journey stress-free.

Parris Smith · Rider review

A long run booked by an office rather than by the rider is executive chauffeur service.

Delegations and inspection trips across a state line ride it through government travel.

Long distance questions

What people ask before booking a long distance chauffeur

These hold for any long run. The pairings with their own pages also print the miles and the road.

What counts as a long distance car service?

A long distance car service is a chauffeured trip between cities rather than a local transfer, usually ninety minutes of driving or more. Executive Transportation runs them with one chauffeur and one vehicle for the whole distance, door to door, quoted by the hour.

Send the two addresses or call (217) 523-5466.

How much does a long distance car service cost?

Executive Transportation quotes a long run by the hour for the whole vehicle, with the minimum stated up front, and posts no rate. The hours the run takes, the vehicle size, the hour you set out, whether the car waits at the far end, and any stop written into the route set the figure.

Call dispatch at (217) 523-5466 for a figure.

How far will you drive?

Illinois, Missouri and Indiana carry most of the work, and the neighboring states are ordinary bookings too. Customers send us to Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis every week, and further to Nashville, Kansas City and Milwaukee. If a trip can be driven inside a day, it can be booked.

The reach is listed on the states we drive.

Is a long distance car service cheaper than flying?

It depends on the party. One traveler on a flexible weekday is often cheaper on a train or a flight, and we will say so. Four or more people, or an address well away from an airport, usually come out ahead on one vehicle and one quote.

Ask for both figures. Dispatch is at (217) 523-5466.

Should I take Amtrak instead for a city like Chicago?

Often yes, if you are one person heading downtown. Amtrak timetables published on September 15, 2026, put Bloomington-Normal to Chicago Union Station at roughly two hours to two and a half hours, with three Lincoln Service trains each way daily. Union Station is downtown, not an airport.

Compare them: every way to Chicago.

Does the same chauffeur drive the whole way?

Yes. One uniformed chauffeur and one vehicle cover the trip from the first address to the last. There is no relay at a state line and no second operator subcontracted for the far half, which is the part most people want confirmed before they book.

Read about the chauffeurs who drive them.

Can we stop on the way?

Yes, and the sooner you say so the better. Extra pickups, a lunch stop or a site visit go on the reservation when you book, so they sit inside the quote rather than being negotiated at the roadside. Any run over three hours gets a rest stop.

Tell a coordinator when you call (217) 523-5466.

How far in advance should I book a long run?

Executive Transportation prefers 72 hours’ notice for a long run and about a week when a group vehicle is involved, because one vehicle is committed for most of a day. Dispatch answers around the clock, and a short-notice run depends on what is free.

Call (217) 523-5466 at any hour.

Three things riders say made the difference on a long day.

  • The figure is written before the first mile

Quoted by the hour with the minimum stated up front, so there is nothing to settle in the car.

  • Nobody hands you over halfway

One chauffeur and one vehicle from the first address to the last.

  • The stop you wanted is in the route

Second pickups and a lunch stop go on the reservation.
